Driving home from work yesterday a guy decided he liked my lane better and thought he'd just take out the side of my car in the process.

MY BABY HAS WHITE FORD PAINT DOWN THE WHOLE OF THE DRIVER SIDE!!! :bawl:

Not only did he hit my car but he tried to do a runner, f*ck that, i dropped it and took off after him, when he realized he couldn't escape me in his old ford beat up piece of crap ute he finally pulled over.

I got out the car looked at my baby and all i could say was "f*ck, look at my car". I was so shaken and so angry that i couldn't even think straight. I rang my fiance (pteropid) and the police. We exchanged details and he took off rather quickly while i was still on the phone to the police. Now that i put it all together it's likely that he had been drinking.

He was in the wrong so it will all be covered under insurance but that doesn't change the fact that my baby is sitting outside hurt and my fiance can't even bring himself to go outside and look at the damage.

The worst part about it was that while I was standing on the side of the road after a FORD had just hit me some bastard drives past and yells out "buy a ford". Luckily, I didn't have a gun on me right there and then or I would now be locked up on murder charges. :biggun:

I feel for you. Nothing worse than having your pride and joy wrecked and having somebody abuse you as well. Happened to me in 1992 when a taxi went through a stop sign and totalled the Jag that I just spent the last 2 years restoring from a shell.....just finished it that day!! :cussing: "F**cken Jag drivers" was the last thing I wanted to hear.

How much damage was done?

having ford paint on your car is like walking around with a massive scabby cold sore hanging off your lip...

I know it was a while ago but sorry to hear about your Jag. I know how much time and energy goes into restoring a car like that.

As for the damage, he did a great job, he didn't miss a panel and he even managed to get the rear window and side mirror involved.

I thought it was mainly just paint damage at first but on closer inspection he has bent the door in, taken a chunk out of the rear quarter panel, side skirt and mirror as well as scratching the rear side window. All in all i think the whole right side of the car will need replacing.

My window was down at he time so he came within about 30cm of my head, had my arm been resting on the window or worse out the window, i would have no arm left.

Having someone do that to you is bad enough. But being a ford, just tops it off!!. hahaha

And the fact that he tried to run away!! I cant stand that. Thats something that really gets to me, that and also people who hit you when your not in the car and dont leave any details. At least you chased him down. Bet he didnt see that coming!!!

Keep your chin up. I know it hurts seeing your baby injured, but as you said, if you had your arm out the window it could of been you!!

She will be back together before you know it.

Well look at the bright side, at least you don't have to pay for it.

As opposed to who is paying for this...

This is the second time my car has been hit while parked on the street. And it is the second time the perpetrator has left without even as much as a note.
Can't wait for my double garage!

That is sad to here, But like everyone is saying its good you managed to get some details not like the old car park prangs where you come out and see a nasty big hows your fathers dent in the side of your car.

Hope you get her fixed as soon as so you can get back to :driving:

Bastards!!! Some people are just so low. A few years ago before we had the munro someone actually walked over our car. They stepped up on the boot walked across the roof and jumped down on the bonnet. We filed a malicious damage report with the police and claimed it on our insurance. We still had to pay the excess but it was a hell of alot cheaper than paying for the $3000 worth of repairs that needed to be done. Depending on the extent/cost of the damage to your car it may be worth looking into filing a malicious damage report.

Well it must be the weather for it. My CV8 came to grips with a Melb tram on Saturday. Its F***KED the front passenger gaurd, wheel, & all the inner frame got pushed into the air intake on my vortech blower. It sucks:cussing: the tram driver abused my fiance who was driving the car - she had just dropped me off 5 mins earlier. The non australian tram driver drove straight through a red light. And told her good luck proving it.:cussing:
