Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how much extra Holden will charge for SS V wheels (if in fact they allow it) if ordering an SV6 or SS?

Have emailed a couple of dealerships with the question a couple of weeks ago but haven't received a response.

Cheers

Holden want $1549 and $1649 for the other 19s they offer as an upgrade on an SV6 so I would assume the SSV rims would be similar. However, for that you just get the car with the 19s and your 18s go into stock somewhere. Better to buy your SSV rims separately and sell your SV6 18s to offset some of the cost as many people like those 18s as an upgrade for Omegas or earlier models.

I get my SSV very early in April and aim to have aftermarket 20s on it before I pick it up. Will therefore be selling my effectively brand new SSV rims with the Bridgies on it, not cheap shit tyres like most places selling them put on and mine will only be a bit more expensive than places want with Nankangs etc. PM me if interested.

You see the first problem is that you tried to contact Holden asking for service.

The second problem is that you did it by email :deal:

The third problem is that you expect to be served :p

Holden don't do upgrades to SSV rims. Only upgrades are through HSVi and these don't include the SSV rims. Only way you can do them through Holden is through the parts dept and getting a tyre dealer to fit your choice of tyres, which is very expensive. Best option is to buy the rims that other members have offered or pick one of the styles that HSVi have.

I saw a SV6 (black) in town the other day and it had the 20" Supersports on it. It looked very tough.

LOL Its funny cause it true

Aftermarket places have them for sale now, they are not that expensive to be honest. If you cant get them from Holden give Forum Sponser Holmart a call. You can get the SSV rims only for $1265 inc gst

you can then choose which tyres you want on them. Which to me is cheap as

Something to keep in mind is that when HSVi change rims they recalibrate the speedo. This has only been done since VE and I think it has something to do with the new laws relating to speedo accuracy. Not sure how they'd police that? Do aftermarket also recalibrate?

Do aftermarket also recalibrate?
I would doubt it...

When I ordered my SSV I got it with the HSVi 20's because I thought I would change to aftermarket 20's anyway and the changeover price to get into them was so cheap I had to do it. They recalibrated my speedo when they fit them.

So when I changed my Holden rims to aftermarket the speedo was already done.

On another note Hawks5 a guy I work (here in Perth) with has got an SSV with the 19's on it. He is thinking up going to 20's so PM me if you are interested and I'll check for ya...

Thanks for all the replies guys. One of my cousins spoke to his former housemate who until recently worked for a dealership. He is going to direct me to the fleet manager when the time comes to purchase.

Hopefully that will improve my chances of getting them through the dealer. Don't think the wife will let me buy another set otherwise but thanks to all who offered.

One interesting thing I did find today though. If you look at the options for an SS V versus an SV6, choosing the other 19s or 20s will cost you only $250 more for the SV6 than they will if you get them for an SS V.

When I ordered my SSV (yet to arrive) I ordered the spare SSV wheel and tyre costing $250 list price. And then I began thinking, what if I ordered four more, then I'd have four spare tyres for $1000 as opposed to what, about $2500 for a new set of OE tyres, and I could recoupe some of that back by selling the wheels.

I am sure this has occured to many others because I have never had an original idea in my life. Anyway the dealer said "no mate, $250 is a special rate for ONE spare wheel and tyre". He directed me to the spare parts area of I wanted more.

Anyways, as it turns out, I have ordered a new set of 19"s (HP Fusion Lightnings) and so the new spare is wasted and I have to work out where, how and for how much to sell the four SSV rims. The silly things we do...

Cheers, Craig
