The Z4ish front and bonnet buldge scream "get outta my way" and will be enough to seperate it from the ordinary 3 series coupes.
The (pleasant) surprise is that it has a conventional manual transmission, rather than the an auto with paddles.

looks good but the bonnet boldge looks like the one off a VN Group A only blended into the bonnet..

The interior is very plain and the exterior doesn't shout out too much that it's anything special, something that has been the hallmark of M3s over the years.
I think there will be a lot of people deciding to spend their hard earned on an RS4 instead, and good luck to them.

Looks really good.. but it should for the damn price!
You're right about the interior though.. the engineering dept probably blew the budget on the engine therefore they put that dodgey interior in it! LOL

Nup not as nice imho as the current M3 we get here.
As Senator05's comments on the RS4 yup the RS4 would be my choice of weapon if i was going to buy a eurorocket.

Does look very nice but I agree with some others here that the RS4 would be my pick. It just looks more like a race car for the road.

BMW has never really done anything for me. I dont mind it looks very busy on the outside, lots of lines everywhere.
Interior looks bland for such a car, looks like the cheap plastic used in the local cars....i'm not sure. I sure it goes well and handles well.
I'd love to know the price if anyone has an idea

Would probably be around the $145k mark>?
Tough on the outside and full manuel would give great driver involvement. Id still like the current one we get here.
Did they get that steering wheel covre from super cheap?
Still id like to see the new AMG C-Class range when it arrives later this year. Its confirmed they are stuffing the 6.3 litre v8 into the little C Class. 378kw of naturally aspirated v8.

I like the look of the car but, the ergonomics of the interior are absolutly sh*t most new BMW's interior ergonomics look crap

I have been waiting for this V8 M3 for ages and love everything about it except the bonnet bulge, looks too small and too steep.
I reckon they should have spread it out a bit more so it's no so obvious, that way it would have kept in line with the previous models "understated" looks.
At least you'll be able to spot one easy enough now.

I am waiting for the M1 to be revealed. A revamped M3 6 cylinder into the superlight 1 series RWD bodyshell with 240+Kw of grunt should be fun.
The new M3 would grow on me if it ever made it into my garage...

I need a tissue.
Interior is fine. Thats how they basically are in all M3's. You can option in woodgrain inserts, colour leather, different carpet, you name it. Thats just the bog stock no frills options.
I think it will be more that $150,000. And its a coupe, so its a different type of car than the RS4.

That interior is surely a placeholder, there's no way known that THAT could be it.
Looks pretty good outside, not sure the bonnet bulge is much chop though.

I really like the look of it. Not a huge fan of the bonnet bulge but usually when BMW do something like this its for a purpose, I'm thinking 8 throttle body manifold :yahoo:
They look like pretty bad photos of the interior (too bright) which makes the plastics look cheap. I'm sure in real life it will look a lot better than any of our local offerings, but still not as good as Audi.
Speaking of which I think the M3 will be a great competitor for the RS4. I'm betting the M3 will be about the same price (165k) but will be slightly quicker in acceleration and lap times. Time will tell but this years PCOTY might have a new champ.
As mentioned above I have read that BMW are working on a sedan based M1 with that beautiful inline 6. This thing may end up being the real giant killer as its more like the original M3 concept, shoe-horning a big engine into a small car. Keep em coming!!!!

Original m3 only had a small motor :p

A 2.3L 4 cylinder with 200bhp was a big motor for a 3 series back in 86 but I get what you're saying. Maybe I should have said putting powerful engines into small cars.

I actually like the interior, has everything you need and none of shit you don't.
Does anyone no where there is a video of this thing? I want to hear it.

The M3 never had an "auto with paddles" like a Merc. or countless other paddle equipped cars. It has a proper sequential 'clutchless' manual. There's a big difference, no torque converter for a start.

Perhaps I shouldve said "still has" a manual trans option available (be it seq), unlike the direction others are going now.

Clutchless manual? The typical SMG box has a clutch and flywheeel (and obviously no torque convertor), although it has no clutch pedal.
The new M3 pics clearly show a clutch pedal! All I know is they say its a "6sp manual transmission" and that they are unsure if an SMG option will be available.

Yep, it has a clutch but the SMG doesn't have a clutch pedal. Hence me writing it as 'clutchless' rather than as clutchless.
