while driving tonight the little engine symbol with the lighting strick in it came on. has anyone experienced this light coming on and staying on? can anyone please shed some light on what it could be?
the owners manual says it is a fault in the "electronic engine management system"or"automatic transmission".
now my car is an m6 so we can rule out the 2nd option...
she has only be cammed for the last 25 days, and i wonder if it could be contributing to the light coming on...
any ideas?

If you have a MAF check the plug in point on the side, have had similar issue with the VY...wiggle the connection a bit start the car and see if light still comes on.

It simply indicates a logged fault from a variety of causes. Oil pressure switch is the main culprit, but not necessarily in this case.

As Davo said, could be an oil pressure switch, mine went about
2 days after cam install (not sure if that is a coincidence though).
Cost me $82 to replace (tks ebay), expect to pay upwards of
$150 from Holden and takes about 5 minutes to replace if you
have the right tools. o2 sensors are another leading cause.
I found that with the o2 sensors the light would come on after
a couple of k's driving, with the oil switch the light came on
as soon as the car was started. Good luck with it :)
Edit: I see you had the cam done at PT, pop back in there, they
will be able to find out in no time what is causing it.

thanks mate, i thought maybe the o2 sensors, but i'll definately be giving PT a call on mondy.
if it is the oil pressure switch, is there any problems with driving the car around, or should i just park her till mondy?

If it's a switch fault, it's not an indication of an oil pressure problem. If you have an oil pressure problem, your motor will tell you something is wrong!

I drove mine for over a week with it faulty, but if you should lose
oil pressure you would not know until it is too late
