Hi Mate, i have the Ls 112 at the moment with cam and higgins heads on 5.7 m/ 6sp goes ok . I had to o/d the supercharger to get my 9.5lbs boost in doing this its now quite noisy under boost, with the standard pulley on they are not to bad. Depending on what you have planned i would try and find someone with one on and go for a drive. I think i will go tt next time.

HYPER8 here in Tassie has a harrop charger and cam, fitted by G&D, it hammers, is still streetable, and not to mention uses less fuel than stock...

Just had one of the new H122 units fitted up to my Coupe4 which already had a mild 383.
Absolutely awesome is about the only way I can describe the fitment, quality, drivability and power delivery.
After being just a little disappointed with my initial foray into the PD world with a Starr whipple kit I honestly couldn't be happier with the Harrop kit.
Cheers Mark

They do seem to be a well-developed solution to making power. The bigger 122 based units look promising even on a stock motor.

Some of the best/happiest times i've had in a car.....had a harrop blower...they are simply..AWESOME...To be honest..the blower on the standard ls2...ran better then just the Ls2 on it own!

I was always under the impression that super chargers increased fuel consumption. Can someone please explain how they can decrease consumption?

I should explain a bit better then I guess, mine is dead stock and UNTUNED, Trents (HYPER8) has the blower and cam and is TUNED (Edited whatever you like to call it) and uses less petrol than mine.
When mines tuned im sure it will use less petrol than his, but for now it doesnt.
Basically what I was trying to say was if you have a dead stocker, then addind a blower etc and appropriate tune should still give you better economy than dead stock...
I hope it makes sense this time?

They produce more torque(pulling power) so less throttle input is required to keep you at crusing speed = less fuel required = better fuel economy.

That works when cruising but ultimately more power = more fuel required, so under full throttle it will use allot more fuel

 Do you find the torque/power strong down low but then runs out of puff top end or is the Harrop supercharged Ls1/2 linear - tque all the way through ???

How does a cammed car use less fuel than a stock???

Boost is present just above idle, it forces more air into the engine right up to rev limiter. The Harrop/Eaton supercharger is a 'positive displacement' supercharger so it essentially forces more air into the plenum at all times. Once the cam opens the inlet valve, air rushes in under pressure, which 'overfills' the cylinder.

Depends on the camshaft profile as to the fuel economy. However, most cam'ed engines are tuned to suit. The stock ECU program runs quite rich so even though you have a hi lift/duration cam, it makes more power as it runs leaner than the stock program.

Hi, i have a 5.7 ltr VZ Monaro with a Harrop HTV3200 blower with 60 pound injectors bolted to it. it also has a comp cam 224/230, valve springs, difillipo 3" exhaust with difillipo headers. 410KW at the rear wheels and 800NM of torque on a very safe tune.
All though i do have 2 problems and i hope someone can help me out. 1. the drive belts at the back of the blower are slipping pretty bad when under load and 2. when going through the gears and reving it to around 4 to 6 rmp, it seems like the throttle bodie is sticking when you push in the clutch to change to the next gear. it has an electronic throttle bodie. could this be a faulty throttle bodie or does it need to be calabrated. HAS ANYONE COME ACROSS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE...
Any help would be great, it is starting to get me down a little....
ALL THIS SAID AND DONE VERY HAPPY WITH THE HARROP SUPER CHARGER AND WOULD PURCHASE ANY HARROP PRODUCT.......

Uteme installed a H122, VCM cam, some vale springs and a tune on his VE ute, and has pulled 397kw from the thing with a conservative 8psi, and the driveability is fantastic to my mind, but more so the rush is just out of this world..
He posted the dyno sheets previously;

This thread includes his thoughts on the quality of the gear, the ease of intallation and the helpfulness of the guys at Harrop.
Cheers
... the drive belts at the back of the blower are slipping pretty bad when under load ...
A HTV2300 on a 5.7 is not really ideal (blower too big), but given your cam etc it seems to be a good fit. The rear belt slip can be fully eliminated with a toothed belt pulley kit, but the sacrifice is the "whirrr" from the toothed belt. I recommend allowing the rear belt to slip a little on your application, as it is probably safer for your engine.
... when going through the gears and reving it to around 4 to 6 rmp, it seems like the throttle bodie is sticking when you push in the clutch to change to the next gear. it has an electronic throttle bodie. could this be a faulty throttle bodie or does it need to be calabrated ...
I am not sure I understand exactly what is being described.
Please call me on 03.9474-0900 or email me via ken@harrop.com.au am we will attempt to determine what the issue is.

Good to see an old thread rear it's head again.
18 month's later my Coupe4 is still making it's 300kw @ All 4 wheels and hasn't missed a beat yet.
Travelled a few other paths in the meanwhile.........but I still have the H122 on my Coupe4.
Awesome bit of gear Harrop :goodjob:
PWR ones a great too!
Good advice there OZ - How about an update 18 months down the TTrack.
