Nice idea, but doubt it would go ahead. Imagine the local residents uproar about it.

Port Phillip Mayor Janet Bolitho said noise and light levels would have to be checked against EPA guidelines.

the last sentence pretty much sums it up, i highly doubt it will be allowed under EPA guidelines unless the govt has the option to overturn them for the event.

I love it when Europeans and American's complain that they are forced to watch sporting events at "ungodly" hours when they are in Australia.

What about us poor mugs all of the time?

true but some of the Nascar events on Saturday nights (US time) are great because it means that they are on Sunday morning our time.
