Hi guys,
I noticed last night in the latest Motor mag that your now selling diff centres, I’m just interested on some information about the Eaton ELocker and the Detroit Truetrac diff's. Are these available for commodores and what type of pricing are they?
Question about the ELocker, I presume that it's an open diff until you turn it on??
Regards
Dave

We are making a Truetrac centre to suit the Commodore housing, however it will be several months before complete.
The E-Locker is open until activated. It is unlikely we will do these for Commodores as they are too big for the standard housing. It would be necessary to upgrade to the 12-bolt Chev IRS housing we make.

With the Truetrac centres to suit the standard housing, will the price be comparable to a KAAZ unit or cheaper?

We intend to have a better product for less cost.

Any new info on the development of this product? It sounds very interesting.
Does your goal of having a better/cheaper diff centre than a KAAZ unit still look achievable?

Absolutely!
The prototype unit is built and testing underway. We have been working very closely with Eaton on the sourcing of some common components from their arsenal so that we can keep the cost down, and they have been great.
It is unlikely we will have production units this calendar year as durability testing is time consuming, but hopefully early in 2008 we should have a Truetrac that is a direct bolt-in solution.

KEN
What would the ratios be??
KEN
What would the ratios be??
This product is replacing the rotating-carrier/LSD, so ratios will be the same as available from Holden.
For other ratios, the best option is uprading to our 12-bolt as there is a very wide range available for Chev 12-bolt diffs.

Just doing some digging of threads here.
Is there any update on the development of the Truetrac to suit Commodores Ken?
Cheers,
Macca.

and another....
I can do some "durability" testing for you too :D
Although development progress has been slower than originally anticipated, it has been worth while as we have now been able to redesign the unit to utilise the latest variant of TrueTrac. In recent months, Eaton refined the design of some of the components we use and have agreed to release the improved product to us.
Durability testing has gone VERY well, and we are about to commence our first production run.
It will now probably be late May before the initial batch is available for sale.
Ken.

Hows it coming fellas? Must be very close to production now. I'm very eager to hear how this performs and of coarse, final pricing.

The internals of the Truetrac will survive aggression from over 500rwkw, but the rest of the standard diff will probably explode before that.
For serious power & traction, upgrade to our 12-bolt kit (http://http://www.harrop.com.au/root_folder/driveline_components/12_bolt_irs_diff.html).

Is the TrueTac ready yet ?
I'm in need of a diff asap .
So the CENTRE is good for around 500 rwks in an Auto ?

The first batch will ship this week. I dont know if all have been pre-sold ... call Damian on 03.9474-0900 or email via damian@harrop.com.au
The Truetrac has survived in excess of 500rwkw ... but the rest of the diff (housing, gears, axles etc) may still be the weak link. The strongest solution available is our 12-bolt upgrade kit (in stock, with Truetrac). :)

Released ...
Retail is $1540 inc GST.
There are already couple of workshops offering discounted package-deal pricing.

I managed to get one from the first batch, been on this list for a while. Won't be in the car till 14/7 though unfortunately I have to travel to someone who is competent to do the job. Should cure my single wheel spinning at Hillclimbs.

Within the next two weeks I should have mine in. Two wheels spinning will be a experiance I have not had in awhile.Run in first of course so I presume instructions are in the package.
But yes I am glad they are finially here. Been quite a wait so hopefully worth it.

Instructions are included ... but in summary: Install; Give it HEAPS! :xmas:
If installing a new pinion/ring-gear or brearings at the same time, then take appropriate bedding-in steps ... but our Truetrac has no real special run-in required. There is also no need for special oil additives etc.
It is certainly not necessary to do 45 minutes of making yourself dizzy in a carpark doing figure-8's

Done and only the Trutack will be done with mine and I will put in the normal oil. Once it is here I will give it a try. All I need to see is two black marks from the back of the car and I will be a happy man.
Just like the Tex. I like it when the manufacture says put it in and give it hell. Love it and I will ensure I listen to you advice carefully.
