Hi guys.
Ive been a ford man all my life but i test drove a VE SS-V last night and i have to admit it was the best car i have driven.
I currently have an '04 XR6 Turbo that i will be trading in and just wanted to know what sort of prices are people getting in perth for a new SS-V.
I priced one last night and he wanted $55000.
BTW hi to everyone as this is my first post. You should be seeing more of me soon.
Cheers
Adrian
Got offered one on Saturday for $52,500 drive away in Victoria and that was just off the street - no haggling.
It was a manual.

When we shopped for our SS last week, the dealer (Phoenix Holden) had an SSV in Ignition for $51700 drive-away.
Now I am not sure of this, but I think I saw it for just on $50K drive away yesterday - I guess it's not a popular colour. Worth giving them a call...

keep aware of 06 pricing make sure you have it writen on the contract weather its a 2006 build or 2007 and make sure the the pricing refects this.
Btw i was offered a choice of 2006 manual VE SS brand new for 42300 drive away or a demo auto (done less than 1000kms) for 41650 drive away

good luck with the change mate :thumbsup: i'm hanging out to see what the '08 Falcon brings with it, and, unfortunately, if it's not much i think i'll change cars. Or i might buy a phoon, but Ford need a change i think.
Even my missus is getting sick of the XR6T, as she wants something different.. i think she wants a V8 for the next car, but she doesn't understand that i have a problem, and turbos would have to be put on it before too long.

Id say your version of 'a few other things' is either a trade-in or a company discount of sorts, otherwise, Id be the first to put my hand up and call your bluff, as my figure of $52,200 was also with the fleet discount...... and i can tell you, I shopped around bigtime with some dealers straight out saying they couldnt even match that price, so for you to get all those extra's such as sunroof and sat-nav, I'm quite certain we arent getting the full story with your 'deal'. ex-demo perhaps?..... fill us in out of curiousity.

In Syndey today Holden have been advertising up to 15% off new cars.
I'm sure that's for 06 plated cars and probably for OMEGA's or Barina's or something.

no bluff mate.
that was with a fleet discount and going through novated lease i dont finance the GST as its claimed as an input tax credit.
heres the breakdown for you mate:
RRP driveaway = $60704.45
fleet discount = - $5515
GST = - $4661.23
total = $50528.22

But Deano you still pay the GST so in essence the car has cost you approx $55k.

Exactly, so really you paid approx $55k, so if thats the case, I could have just as easily have said i paid mid 40's.....
I knew something didnt quite smell right.
Thanks for the clear up.
For an 07 M6 I reckon you'd be doing ok at 52 - for an A6 you should be able to squeeze em down to 53 stock std.. I reckon... Just watch out for the extra's that's where they get ya !

if deano owns the company solely he gets the gst back into company coffers within the first 2-3 months if he bought the car outright or say company hp etc, so if he fits above description that is what he paid... dont know if this applies to novated deals, i'm not a bean counter.

yeah you sort of there although i dont know exactly...something about my company claiming the gst as an input tax credit or something hence i dont finance the amount with gst but the amount minus gst...its all part of my salary package :up2sum:
gotta love those large multinational companies....:evil:
thats what my contracts say, i have read and so has the accountant and it seems all good...its all in black and white
at the end of the day it doesnt matter whether you pay $50K or $60K for your SSV...if its the best deal you can get and you love the car then its all good and thats the only thing that matters.
i was happy to pay the normal amount but then i was told by my boss about novated lease...it just made the purchase that little bit sweeter

Saw one in local paper at the holden dealer, $46000 driveaway, might be upgrading soon (since the girlfriend left, I have some extra cash).
My targets Typhoon, VZ Clubby, VE SS or even a Ford GT. What is the petrol consumption with the phoon. I wouldnt mind switching over to ford, I llike the current shape.

07 ignition M6 SSV, sunroof, dvd, SS mats, tow bar 1600kg, bootliner, headlight guards, stripes, full size spare, dash mat, boot lid carpet,58k drive away without any fleet discounts. Had to wait 3 months but was worth it. Sounds a bit dearer than some here but retail was nearly 64k so i was pretty happy with it. This includes $1295 D/del and $325 for meatlic paint. And recently recieved my radiator cover, for free and freighted by the dealer to us, so now my car is finished. Make sure yours has this top radiator shrowd fitted and also make sure the two scrivets are fitted at the windscreen cowling just under the bonnet hinges.
