a bit of work but put a new rocker cover gasket on is the best fix, dont put snake oil in your oil

I wouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary. It basically gums up the internals of the engine - but isn't selective in what gets coated. You could easily end up with sticky lifters etc.
A couple of new rocker cover gaskets aren't that pricey & it should only take an hour or so change them.

has the cover been off at all recently.

may have some crap under the gasket or it just not tight enough. try to tighten it first. if not remove and check the seal and the seal surface on the head for damage of dirt etc even a scratch to the smooth head surface can cause a small leak.

the gasket are some sort of rubber/silicon are pretty good and reusable, so i doubt its worth using that gunk when it should be easy to fix.

last resort for a seal if all else fails and no damage to the gasket is a light coating of sensor safe silicon then put it back on

No do not use this product.

This and all the other oil stop leak products available in servos and basically a blend of solvents that can damage your rubber seals and rubber gaskets.

They work by reacting with the rubber and making it swell, then the product mostly flashes off however, for the time it's your motor it can also up lower the protection your oil has for your motor, there would possibly be some nastys that can stay behind as well.

Just check out there safety data sheet!

Mainlube has a real (industrial) product for this job which can stop a leak if there is no mechanical fault with the rubber (cracked through heat or cut on assembly) which if you had a rear main oil seal leaking (big job) you would try however, if it's just a tappet cover gasket, try tightening the cover down and if that doesnt work replace the gadget, it's not much of a job.

I wouldn't put an additive in your oil for a job this easy to fix,

Don't even think about it mate, fix it right in the first place. Have heard of the rocker covers coming a bit loose and a quick tighten up will fix them. If you can't fix it yourself get a quote, I would not expect it to come to much more than $200 to replace both gaskets.
