I don't mind the paint job on this but thought they could have given the engine a few more kw's to celebrate 40years.

Awesome looking car if you ask me ... the gold stripes really set it off
It does come with upgraded suspension n the better breaks
My mate just ordered one ... cant wait to see it
Oh and being as this is a holden forum, dont suppose i can get any feedback or him on the shaker option?? 2K for a CAI seems steep... Oh and anything on exhausts too
But back on topic ... i like it the stripes are awesome as the go all the way to the front n rear bumpers

The stripe/decal thing making cars faster has been done to DEATH... It's annoying.
regarding the car..Yeah it looks nice, and has the R-spec suspension that will be offered across the FPV range I beleive.
No development budget left for BF series so nothing to really get too excited about. Just a tricked up GT.

Looks great - but like others have said it should be a little more special than just great colour combinations.
The Ford V8 is OK , it is still a sub 14 sec car for the quarter so I wouldn't thumb my nose at it - will be interesting to see what they do with the V8 in the Orion.

I guess they are a bit like Porsche but FPV in the engine department is too lazy to extract any extra power out when Porsche is too lazy to design a radical new design for their cars.
Not meaning this to be a bad thing at all.
Porsches are nice cars but so predictable in styling wise.

having said that its a shame the gts has the same power as the rest of the lineup so fair enough i guess

yeh i reckon this car will look farken horn in real life, lowered a tad with some wider rubber and dark tint....
but it still could have done with some motor work.. even a sick sounding exhaust that crackled on the overrun etc would make a difference... but a nice supercharger would be the ducks nuts

I think nearly all Ford lovers have been crying for more power since the BF was released back in 06. I think it needs to be at least 310-320 fwkw to remain competitive. Looks like Ford are quite happy to lose some supporters due to their lack of performance as they havent done anything about it since 2002.....makes youy wonder what FPV are thinking exactly

yeh i just dont understand ford sometimes..
on one hand they have an awesome sounding and powerful but slower V8 than the competition, something they could surely rectify easily but they choose to ignore it...
then on the other hand they have far and away the best 6cyl option without a doubt that even cannibilises its own V8 sales and a healthy amount of the competitions v8's yet theres no competition for it???

I feel that the head honchos in Dearborn are to blame for Ford's lack of Development. The dollars Holden is getting for development from GM in comparison to what Ford Oz is getting is the difference.

There must have been something wrong with it as every BOSS 290 powered car I have ever seen dynoed has done 235-250rwkw. This includes my old one that was dynoed alone with some of the LS1 brisoids in 2004 at one of the dyno days and I came second in class (N/A V8) 243.7rwkw. C4B won it with his GTS stroker.
The 40th GT is a bit like the Skaife or Signature Coupe, just a marketing stunt. Sure does look good though.

hmm, i will go against the grain a little here and say -so what. What is so different to the million other striped Falcon XR's getting around ?Out there on the streets this will not poke out any different imo.I would have liked to seen something more ,infact anything. FPV rely too heavily on the stripe factor for their visuals imo.Take a GT and destripe it ,and it just disappears.

im 99% sure i seen one of these in warrnambool today the brakes looks great and the whole package actually looks very good i probably would get this over any other for EASILY apart from a phase 3
She looks good! Def could have had some more ponies under the hood though for a 40th anniv model! Got to say the oldest BA-F style FPV's are almost 5 years old now and have aged pretty good IMO.

Another average effort by the blue oval. Love the stripes though. Trouble is if you take the stripes off it is just another falcon. Doesn't need 290 Boss sticker on bonnet because they have been 290 for nearly 5 years!!!
Just needs another badge on the other side of the blue oval badge in the grill to balance it up, maybe an RACV badge or something.;)
Looks nice but why do you need bigger brakes for the same horsepower?
I wish holden took the stripes all the way to the spoiler as well, i asked for this but they wouldn't do it even if i paid for it, come in pre cut kits apparently.

From the factory the modular V8 is a bit disappointing, but it's only an edit from Chris @ Bluepower away from being a cracker - and it's still the best sounding factory engine available. But I guess it's easy to be disappointed when you guys have been spoiled for so long by the ls1/ls2/etc engines.

We all know that the LSX V8 engines are the best v8's around at the moment but to say the Modular Ford V8 doesn't want to rev gets me confused. The only reason it doesn't want to rev is it's rev limiter which is set so low that when it operates wants to ram your head through the windscreen. It has no problem reving at all. Maybe your talking about the old Windsor???

Looks nice but clearly Ford are gearing up for Orion and don't want to give away anything. They don't want Orion to be seen as just a rebodied BF so they won't give the BF II GT 40th Anniversary the Orion GTs' engine.
Of absolute paramount inportance is that Orion V8s are competitve with there Holden equivalents and the bloody F6 !!!

They will rev but the problem with the 5.4's is because it is a Ford Australia built "bitsa", it has a very long stroke and will literally tear itself to pieces if revved too far and too long stock.
That is why you can't rev them without a built bottom end.

The LSX is not the best V8, but its good at creating power. What makes a LS a popular motor is its huge capacity. Work the sums out if the 5.4 had equal capacity to the Ls 6.0L it would produce 320KW and around 570NM of torque. The reason why the Ford motor does not rev, it due to its massive stroke. Massive stroke would mean very high piston speeds which would mean lower rpm.
Ford have much better motors but for some reason dont use them. The 4.6L supercharged would offer better performance. Now they have the 5.4L supercharged but for some reason dont use it. The new create motors, seem to be awsome. I guess the 5.4 is just old!
The Turbo 6 is a much better motor than the 5.4! Ford could easily up the small boost levels and create a V8 killer.

Nice!
I still think the lil 302's was the best of the bunch.
Build a 302 right it can produce decent numbers and can be able to rev and its drivable in all sorts of conditions. God help Ford if they didn't have the turbo 6.

What a load of crap ! LSx series is a much better engine design,it is as simple as that.Your argument is akin to that of Honda vtec fans .i.e a dream state."if only....then we would show you !!".Well that time has come and gone and nothing was shown ! The LS chev small block was a big dollar clean sheet design -it's not a mongrel bitsa cobbled together at Broadmeadows. Alot of it's advantages and smarts are lost on many who can only focus on valvetrain actuation ,which is almost irrelevant.
