Intank Regulator

Unfortunately Sonny's pics arent up any more.

Once you pull the fuel sender and bucket out, there is a white/clear flexible pipe (ribbed for her pleasure) that leads down to the intank reg at the bottom of the bucket.
Cut the reg off and remove it, and have the flexible pipe just suck without anything attached to the end of it.
I was advised to cable tie it to the unit to hold it in place so it doesnt get disturbed from sucking right from the bottom.

Powering your pump.

Run thick cable from your positive battery terminal, to the back of the car.

Setup a relay so that it is triggered by the purple wire to the fuel pumps only, and your 12v feed comes straight from the battery, through the relay, then out to the 044 pump.

Thanks seedy, thats how the surge is being powered now... by a purple wire.

how hard is it to drop the tank to do this? ive been told theres a special clip that needs to be removed to get into the tank ?

can you give me some info on how to lower the tank down at all ?

To remove tank.

- Raise rear of car on stands
- Remove wheel
- Remove extremily flexible black hose that plugs into the filler neck of the tank (this leads off to the charcioal canister)
- Some say take off the petrol cap, but I found I didnt need to
- there's 3 big straps holding petrol tank on, use a 19mm spanner or socket to undo these straps. Do left and right first, then get under her, get the last bolt undone (the springiness of the strap [its an industry term] holds it on
- Puff chest up, and get the strap off, take the weight of the tank on your chest.
- Wiggle left to right, till the filler neck comes clear from the car, then push it off your chest
- (obviously less petrol the better)
- If theres two people, its an absolute doddle, jsut get on each side, and you should be able to each take the 25 kgs or so (including fuel) with one hand each
- Be careful not to just launch it away from you when you are lowering it ... as its still connected by 3 hoses (Return, Feed and over flow?) and a wiring cable

Now ... the "special clip" is a big ring clip (small plate size), that you use a hammer (you should be good at that) and a screw driver to bash off. Bash it anti-clockwise, and it needs to rotate about an inch before it lines up with the holes and pulls away.
