Well it took a while but I finally got around to doing my track day at Oran Park.
It was one of those gift voucher hire things but I must say I was really impressed with the bikes. I was picturing busted arse old race bikes but they were 06 GSXR600's. The bikes were spankers without a mark on them (made me really nervous as I didn't want to be the first tool to lay it down). They just had basic mods, race pipes, tune, cut slicks and suspention tweaks. Even used tyre warmers!
7 15min sessions throughout the day so there was plenty of time in the saddle. All I can say is that it was absolutely awsome. I was very impressed with the low down power of the 600's as I wasn't expecting any. Driving a car fast is always fun but nothing beats the involvement of pushing your limits on a bike. By the end of the day I was even rounding up some 750's and 1000's although I was in the slow group so thats to be expected.
And to top it all off, at the end of the day I went home to watch Casey Stoner take out his first GP win. Now thats a good day!!!

C'mon Ben,
I know bikes are quick, but do you really believe you were posting quicker times than the ones we ran in Luffy's Formula Ford cars around Oran park?
I think not............By all means please prove me wrong.
Where are the times?
Sonny, I think he is receiving a kick back from the the ride day organisers, a GenTT would be much more fun!!!

Sonny, check out the Red Balloon website. They have track days at most tracks and you can take your own bike or hire one like I did. $660 for the day and that includes the gear.
P.S. I still owe you a PCM.

I was waiting for that. My mate took photo's of my first two sessions so it was my first time on a track and I don't ride sportsbikes so it took me a couple to get comfortable. It was weird actually, I really love hanging off the bike but when you're riding as fast as you dare and trying to pick braking points, blipping downshift, getting your turn-in right and watching out for other novice riders like yourself, you tend miss a few things.
And yes I am very lazy..... thats why I ride a 1000cc V twin, you can leave it in any gear and it pretty much goes the same!!!

I wasn't completly bitching out!
