A crank angle sensor failing is a major issue on VL 6cyls, but you still have to cover the basics of the ignition system.
Have you definitely got no spark, or do you think you have no spark as the car wont start? Make sure all the leads and connectors and so forth are definitely fully connected in to the bottom of their sockets first.
I'm saying about the lack of spark because if the dizzy was removed, and has been put back in 180deg out, it wont be firing on the ignition stroke of the engine, so it wont start.

the biggest issue ive had with vl 6's is the crank angle sensor (inside the dizzy) but a couple that had no spark were caused by dirty fusable links at the battery, just as a matter of course now if i have a vl that wont start the first thing i do is clean both battery terminals and the fusable links, this i have learned after chasing my tail on one particular car that cranked, had no spark while cranking, replaced the crank angle sensor, still no spark, so went back to basics and started with the battery and connectors, all it took to get this car to start was to disconnect the fusable link and then plug it back in and the car started, i then cleaned all the links and the car hasnt missed a beat in 4 years
