I am after peoples experiences with TYC headlights.
I bought a set off ebay for my VT and they look great. In my opinion better than the genuine Monaro ones due to having less silver in them. However after a month of having them in I noticed the housing had melted in front of the projectors. I got a replacement set from the distributor at no cost and fitted them last friday. After driving this weekend I noticed that the new ones are starting to do the same thing, after only 5hrs 20min of driving :cussing: .
Has anyone else who has fitted these had a similar problem happen?
I am using the globes supplied with the lights at the moment.

TYC supply a large amount of the cheap, copy lamps to the wreckers and so forth. They are made cheaply in Asia.
From my old works experience, some were good and had no problems, where as others would fade the chrome, couldn't align properly, leak water in rain, need wiring changed before they'd work properly, or just plain not fit properly.
This is the price paid for products banged out cheaply in Asia unfortunately...

Got any decent pics? I always wondered what they would look like on a tiger VT.
you get what you pay for, there is a reason they are so much cheaper than the genuine items.

Im assuming mine are the same brand - the euro copy of the monaro and have to say after 2 years they ahve held up very well - no leaks - no melting and the clear plastic hasnt yellowed yet which I would have expected by now.
Maybe there are a few places making these lights??

Possibly.......
But the second set is doing the same as the first.
Going back to the supplier tomorrow so will see what he has to say about it.
He has them fitted to his car as well and showed me no melted bits.
Maybe I got 2 dud sets????

You can download Image Resizer from Microsoft. Part of the Powertoys program from memory. You can easily resize any photo.
