I want to say what a great job Hi-Torque did installing new cam
232 x 234. Made 281 rkw, couldn't be happier and would highly recommend them to anyone.

You've been a member since 2005 and still not 10 posts - you need to get on here more often...:stick:
Sounds like a great result - how about giving us some more details on your ride and mods!!
Cheers,

I've got a VU SS ute. 3.9 dif gears, 2 hole mod, pacemakers and 3.5 sureflow catback and 232 x 234 comp cam, m6. Should be able to squeeze some more out of it yet with more mods.

Id go bigger. You know you want to. Bite the bullett and do it. Nothing under 240s i say.:yahoo:
Hi Torque seems like there getting a few runs on the board, should be all good. Darrens car is going real well so it will be good to see your outcome.

the aim with the small converter is an 11.9 in street trim, minus spare and with the ns2s, any faster then that will be a bonus.
240s is so temptin but the wife will throw me on all the fire and brimstone she can muster.
Dice 99 any chance of pm me the dyno sheet so i can have a peek

How does the cam go with the 3.5" exhaust? Am thinking bout getting a cam, but am a bit worried the exhaust will be too loud, as mine is the 'loud' version.
dice99
26-03-2007, 09:42 PM
Mine is also the loud version. It's definitely louder but not as loud as a twin 3 inch xforce, which i plan on getting as soon as can afford. the sound may depend on how big a cam you plan on using?
ohh and highlander i dont have enough posts yet to send it. sorry.

You won't need a very big cam to do an 11.9.

28-03-2007, 11:54 AM
that maybe true vulture, it is very likely i could run a 11.9 with the current cam, add a stallie,tb,25%upd and a set of high flow cats to help the zorst out a bit and some kind weather.
but a 232/234 will give me a better idle ;) and more mid/top then the current baby crower from which i must say at the least is quiet boring atm. anyone looking for a good small cam for the street with near stock idle, the crowers great :)
weres the dyno graph???/ :(

Nice. I am also thinking about that cam now that I am back to NA for a while. Would like a nasty idle ;) and a bit more up the top.

Would you guys say that a 238/242 sized Cam would be to big in conjunction with a twin 3" X-Force exhaust system, Sureflo OTR CAI and a Mafless tune, but with no head work?
Jason.

Is that manual or auto if auto you are going to want 5000+ stall, and a good clutch and tyre setup for manual. But i cant see a problem with that cam, Mark one has a cam near that i believe:idea: and he has the runs on the board

Hey Mr Highlander, I thought you did all the homework on this stick and it was the best for what you wanted as I recall. If you're goning the 230's cam, you're going to need a stall, so why not go and do that first before going to a bigger stick???? Plus I'm not too sure on the idling comment, but happy to be disproved.
Still it'll be a good match for you and BBB2 - especially as it's gloves off now seeing as you're with a rival tuning shop to the majority of the Brisbane LS1'ers. I'll be watching this one very closely...... very closely indeed ;)
Cheers,
Leatherman

I guess by that you're implying your new cam will be in. So what specs is it - custom, T-rex, ??????
OK - happy to give you a run, but the heads are currently in customs for clearance...... so we might not have a lot of chance. But I'll take the left lane if we can go head to head ;)

yep - I think there's about 1 rwkw in it now. But so far M12 is way ahead in terms of ET. I'll be running the cam only set up for about 6 weeks more I think then LBT will get her head job. Then she'll definitely be needing a roll cage..... and I'll be needing that next level ANDRA licence.
Cheers,
