Hi all,

If anyone can give me some info on the difference of a 05 and 06 model it would be great. Ive read all the info on hsv.com etc but any info would be good. Also did they come mafless from the factory.

Cheers Strick

Very little difference. Mid 2005, 4 piston brakes changed from Harrop sourced to AP Racing sourced, and some minor interior differences as per Holden decontenting.
There has never been a mafless LS2 in a HSV, only the C4B 300kW LS1's HSV's up to VY.
That's pretty much it.

Also you can pick a 2006 R8 cos it doesn't have the little fin over the vent on the side.... prior to 2006 they did have that on there. They left it on the 2006 non-R8 Clubsport, though.

Looks better with it on there I reckon!

Yep, Brakes (AP's look much better) and gaurd vent. The 2006 R8 gaurd vent looks crappy compared to 05.

2006 Clubsport R8's were exactly the same as late 2005 but with the following changes:

1. Silver mesh in the front grill instead of the matt black
2. SV6000 style indicators in the gaurds. Button type light instead of the spear type
3. Black ascenting along the top of the side skirt to break the colour up slightly
4. Rear Park Sensors as standard equipment on R8

Thanks for the info everyone. Seems there isnt too much difference, weird considering that the 05 is on adverage 3k cheeper than the 06. Ive had a look at redbook and agree good site for info but the prices seem to be a bit out of whack. I guess the next stage is to test drive both of em and also an SSV and see what i like better. :werd:
