G'day All,

Well I have read, I have admired and I have yearned... For years now (and i mean YEARS, say 10 or more) I have pined and told myself i would get an V8 SS. All my friends have heard the story 1,000 times, i drove them mad with - "I am going to get one". However history will show that I never did get that SS. I have a lovely Berlina (6), VX, VY and VZ (last 3 V6 Exec company cars) - but the ever dreamt and drooled over SS never came to fruition - instead always taking the safe route - and letting the dream slip further away..

UNTIL NOW..

Yesterday - after weeks of procrastination (adding to those years), I walked into a my Holden dealer and put pen to paper... And my dream is almost a reality... So in the next 6-8 weeks i will the proud owner of:

Nickel SSV with
6 Speed Manual
Sunroof
DVD
Rear Park Assist
Full Size Spare
SS Mats.
12 Months Licensing

All up $55,500 on road.. Not sure if i paid too much, but i was happy at the time..

And i have already put in for personal plates: SSALIV8 (Reads Salivate) because i drooled over them for so many years (and they are drooled over).

Anyway, I gerenally keep things quiet until it all happens, but this is just one of those moments i to share... I am excited, nervous, scared and impatient all at the same time right now...

Paul.

PS - Prices went up $500 as of 1st March.. D'oh!! Oh well..
PPS - I am told Evoke is being deleted as a colour option end of April.. Get 'em while you can (Pity SSV Never came in 'em)

The SSV is my third SS, but seventh V8. Even with pertol getting set to go through the roof, you won't be sorry.

Good to see that you didn't waste your money opting for the SATNAV!!!!

My Trusty Navman iCN720 takes care of the Satellite navigation duties. And for the $550 i picked it up for it's a damn site cheaper than Holden's $2000 option!

The thing i look forward to the most.. Cranking over the 6ltr for the first time with the keys in MY HANDS.. Knowing it is MINE..

mate big congrats...i was exactly the same as you. "yes i will get one soon" ended up 5 yrs later :p

you wont be disappointed with your car its absolutely awesome to drive.
i remember when i first got it i felt sick and wanted to vomit .. kakaka

0-100km in 5.x secs there are no words to describe it.

power on demand ..... instant response... adrenaline rush.

i was one of the lucky ones and waited only a week for the dealer to get the car ready for me but geez it felt like a lifetime. oh and looking at the sureflo exhaust video clips like 1000000 times before getting the car.

Perth seems to be gettin a few SSV's - though i still see very few on the road.. I rubber neck every time i see one. It is like a dream that soon one will be mine too.. It's very surreal.

Atleast you'll get yours before mine, Mojo. We might need to organise an SSV photo-shoot day..

Paul.

That's a damn fine idea Senator - we'll post 2 silver SSV's on My Ride - when are you due for delivery ?

Just read your 1st post again 6 - 8 weeks - mid May (hopefully early May eh !) Give me a hoy when you get the beast !

I honestly believe that when i finally take those lovely new flip keys in my hand, finally get to sit behind the wheel and finally get to crank over the L98, it'll take a week to get me out from behind the wheel..

But i will give to a hoy when she does arrive and arrange some nice happy snaps of the Silver SSV's

Look forward to hearing more about your's when you take delivery. I'm excited for you....

Paul.
