Hey Fellas,

Looking @ a vx r8, unmodded.

What should i expect for fuel consumption, city and highway.

Also, if the exhaust, cai, throttle body and mafless tune are done, will i be worse off?

Jim

ooo! bit touchy eh?

OK then, I'll go first, I can get as good as 8.5-9 lt per hundred hwy and up to 21lt per hundred city.

I have all the mods you have listed.

Now for the pages and pages of who can get what, again!!!!

Going off the little trip computer:

Suburbia/city driving: Avg 13.5-13.8 per 100kms and driving it hard here and there
Freeway: Avg 9.0-11 per 100 kms depending if I 'overtake' people

Jim

I got 10/100 out of my ls1 on a trip repeatedly, around town anything up to 20/100.

The mods and tune up will definately improve the fuel economy however with your new found power and noise it's more tempting to nail it and chew up the juice.

If fuel economy is a big issue don't buy a V8

cheers

it really does depend on how heavy ur boots are...
i can get as low as 10-11L/100km in a tank but as high as 20, depending on what im doing and where im going
i average out at around 14L, which is very similar to my old vr v6, :D

mate it varies so much.

we are talking of figures from 9L/100km for highway that some ppl are getting to 21L/100km+ driving for an unmodded car.

it depends on car and you can get differences between the exact same two vehicles, depends on driving style, location, etc.

i had a unmodded VXII R8 M6 and everyday driving to work i would get anywhere from 18-21L/100km
Freeway driving i would get 14L/100km if i was going on a good trip
and then you will get others that will say they get figures alot more lower.

its not just v8s, its the same with every car...i still am amazed how some ppl get so low figures..

so take what ppls figures are with a pinch of salt.

if your concerned about feul consumption then leave the clubby and buy a 4 cylinder economical box...and thats not having a go at you so dont take that the wrong way

Fair enough, you wont mind having an 8 then ;)

What do you get in the Sti if you did not drive as hard and without the mods?

13/14 at max.

its an import with a fair bit of work so quite possibly a reg r8 should be fine.

C4B is on the money here, there is countless "what fuel economy do you get" threads floating around. Have a read through them and you'll be sure to find what your looking for.
