So does anyone want to explain to me as to how there running these around what looks to be a test track and how someone like myself who has absolutly no photochoping skills could produce these, there the realest looking photo's of the VS SS ute ive seen.

Great bit of photoshop.
You never know it could also be a awesome photographer , look at the blade of grass at the fron wheels , identical in both pics.
Also the white posts are in identical places
And the driver is identical.

Have a close look at the C pillar as well as the bush background behind it, the bush doesn't match up and there is a straight line running right through it.

They're all chops, the one with the CGI watermark is done by our very own geary.
The other two seem too amateur and rough to be done by geary.

Not a huge fan of the first two chops. I do like the suicide doors on the first one though.

Hahahaha, back away from the crack pipe man.
Its funny how the GMC and SS utes have the same angle, driving position and the guy driving is in the exact same spot in both pics. Not only that, but the chops are incomplete.
I hope that was just sarcasm... for your sake

photos 1 and 2 are the same identcal photochop - just with different grilles and a line behind the side window (oh and a couple of sunglares to boot)
They are ALL chops.

I think alot of people have obviously missed my sarcasm :cussing: through the thread, i simply posted the pics for everyone to see and then asked for those that believed its chopped to point out to me what the imperfections were.:hmmm: Next time i think it might be better to just post and leave it there.

the second pic, in the quarter window, the pole doesn't show through the glass down to the ground, you can see that...
even though they are chopped pics the rear finish of the cabin doesn't look right, its too sharp... who ever did the chops should look at that and round it off a little bit, mainly just at the rear edge of the roof

Even though those pics are chops I bet the new VE ute will look pretty similar if past models are a guide.
The front will be the same as the sedan the rear will have big guards. So what remains is the 3/4 window if any and the tail lights and side height. The sides will probably be the same height as the door so really thos pics may be chops but I bet they will be almost identical to the real thing.
cheers

The aim of creating a good photochop is to fool the viewer into believing it's real.

i think most designers would say its photoshopping images is "to create an accurate visual representation of a physical part"
i think considering that person used the same pictures to create different cars, they never intended to fool anyone as it was obvious they had used the same images etc, i believe it was just to show different possible designs and ideas they had
they did a pretty decent job too in my opinion

I beg to differ.
Whenever I photochop an image it is to create the vehicle that is in my head, but also fool the unsuspecting viewer into believing it's real. Hence we go for realism rather than sketching a concept.
As for a good job? Only geary's (the last one) looks half decent. The others look shabby and poorly done, the lines they added look idiotic and the lens flare is just overkill.

kinda splitting hairs, they are both similar explanations,
but whenever designers use it professionally they show the photoshops to other designers engineers etc who know that it is purely a concept not an physical car....they are not trying to fool them. thats how it works here anyway haha

That's not how it works on the internet, and with some magazines, etc.

At the end of the day this thread has gone far too long and too much time has been wasted in it.
