No pics yet but hopefully soon i will.

And on a side note because i cant post in the wanted section im chasing a damaged or non usable Ls1 block to use as a dummy.

Going to be farkn nuts, there was a green lj around with a 186 na that useed to rund consistent 11.5s at calder with a 5spd, scarey to think what the chev would be like.

G'day Adam, Nice project, LJ Bolted to a LS 1...I've seen a Purple LJ Maybe a LC Here in NSW around Rooty Hill which had Number plate's ***LS1 judging by the back tyres it looke like he had it tubbed, road registered and sounded great, it was fun watching it crawl sideways off the lights.
Good luck with your project send somre pics.

Appreciate the offer. Thanks

As for pics i only have some old ones after i stripped it down to its undies.(rust repair work being done) Ill wait to theres some better ones to post.
But its got mini tubs and a coil over rear end. Nine inch etc etc.

Ive owned a few Ljs and Cs all with V8s. Hopefully with the Gen 3 itll be more streetable and still go alright at the strip.

See if you can rustle up some heads somewhere, be good for setting up pipes/clearance etc, then I can borrow them of ya!, what sump you using?

Yeh looking for a set of dud heads to for setting up too. I wanna see if a set of Hsv 4 into 1s will fit. Cheaper than a custom set as ive been down that road before.
Sump i can get a camaro sump and modify. (Although im led to believe this may fit the Lj crossmember without mods but im not convinced.)
Or stock sump and modify.

Ive always wanted an LJ. I either wanted to fit a RB25 or an injected 5L but you can now replace 5L with Gen3. With a decent rear end setup and say 400rwhp from a cam and headed LS1 it would have to nearly duck into the 9's surely... Youve wetted my appetite again. Im going start looking for one to play with.

The HSV's didnt fit in the LH/X so you will have buckley's in an LC/J, but they are a good starting point, you can pick up a set cheap, but 2 new flanges for around $80, cut and shorten the pipes and modify them to suit.

Lx346,
Yep that was my idea or plan to see how close they go and do some cutting. Give me something to work with.
By the way is that you selling on ebay? (pump and book)

Just a little update that im still working away on this. Finally got my engine mount adapters so technically i have everything to mount a gen 3 in my bay. Just need a engine lol
Decided in fabbing up my own set of headers so have all the pieces to do this, just going with a 1 5/8 primary size. But need some dummy heads/block to start....
Finished of my nine inch housing/coil overs and centre done just need to order some axles. Boxed up all the trailing arms and new bushes mostly done too.
Still need to build a new boot floor, tubs and rear seat wall. (this got chopped out when i was intending on back halving the car)
Hrmm hopefully ill get some pics up soon to make this post a little more interesting.

Cheers
Adam

Wow nearly 2 years since i posted...Project isnt dead...just time and money issues as usual. But im getting there.
Heres a few links to pics...nothing to exciting yet but its been alot of work on my end dealing with the body and what not.
Rear end started like this
http://home.iprimus.com.au/peanutt/dragintorana/images/rearboot.jpg
And ended like this
http://home.iprimus.com.au/peanutt/dragintorana/images/boot3.jpg
http://home.iprimus.com.au/peanutt/dragintorana/images/tubs.jpg
So basically i had no rear end...so fabricated new boot floor and mini tubs, nine inch coil overs. Also had to find a rear firewall from a parts car and get that in too.
Ive stretched the guards too here the guard is just dummied in place to get the right look. Im actually using two rear halfs of a guard and flipped one around to give a smoother look. The stock Lj guard is kind of funny shaped.
http://home.iprimus.com.au/peanutt/dragintorana/images/guard.jpg
Dummy block in bay...Still in the process of getting it in the right position while using a moroso sump.

Apart from that ive just been acumulating parts along the way...

Really need to find a 4l60e case so i can see where that will sit when attached to the block.

Thanks
Adam

Yeh fair bit of work to do...But to be honest the hardest thing for me is the body side of things, i can paint but body work is a killer for me... I bought the car in primer ready for paint...Once i got it home it was terrible...
But i shall press on albeit slowly.

Thanks
Adam
