Im wondering who here on the forum has done a track day at Wanneroo raceway, (i dont like calling it the other name). What times have you run, and what experiences have you had ?
Im hoping to have a go at the no speed limits day/night on the 24th of may. Working on getting the ute ready for it, like changing brake fluid and getting a 1kg extinguisher.
Any tips guys/girls ?

Im running pretty much standard suspension, just the usual lowering, with koni reds in the rear, and standard kybs on the front.
Ive mainly used the ute at the drags, which has been fine, but ive come to a stage where id like to have a go at circuit. Ive been mostly dissapointed with drags, and everyone ive spoken to about circuit (including dear ole dad) its a great thing to do.
Im not worried myself what times i can do, just looking at maybe what i can expect, im hoping huge amounts of fun :)

I did the FPV/Tickford Club sprint day beginning of March this year in the F6. Stinker of a day, with 42 deg C in the shade and 56 Deg C track temp. I managed 61 sec on the short track. Only had 1 warmup lap and 1 sprint lap on the long circuit before the bottom intercooler hose came loose and managed a 73 second lap with traffic.
On a cool day with good rubber and brakes you should manage a 58-60 short circuit and a 68-70 on the long circuit.
Make sure your brake fluid is up to scatch and you have competition brake pads if doing the long circuit :teach:
It's an excellent driving event

Blooness you should be aming for 60s around the short track and 69s around the long track.
the best advice i can give is listen to your instructor they will actully get you driving alot faster if you trust them.
The biggest mistakes people make is down changing at the wrong time. you should dwn change when your braking the hardest and be in the right just before you start turning in while still lightly braking right upto the apex.
also make sure you use all the track on the entry, apex and the exit. and most of all BE SMOOTH.

Just go have fun
Ignore the times
Get into a rythmn and flow and the times will come
Every time I go out in the datto I run faster with very little change to car setup
Now I've sold it I'll have to make a fast Torana get around there
Might come up and watch the May event
