Hi all,

With 10 days to go till I pick up my SS-V I'm preparing for the day (buying oil and filters, writing a new will ;P etc) and I was wondering what, if any, re writable CD's work in the SS-V's stereo for listening to MP3's and is there any special format of burning the songs onto the disk (folder order) or anything like that??

Also, what oil viscosity are you guys using? I've heard good things about castrol in LS1's and there's a few different densities Magnatec 0w40, 10w60, 5w30 etc.

I'll be wanting to keep the engine looking good so I'll be running it in as per the run-in guide posted elsewhere and will change the oil after the first 500-1000k's.

Hey Ausie,

Does the SS-V Stero unit Support MP3 Playback? If so (I'll presume you have nero burning software), Just open nero 'Start Smart' follow the tabs along to the 'Audio' one and select make MP3 CD and add the songs (Note this cd will only work in your computer and MP3 Compatiable head decks).

If it doesn't have MP3 Playback, burn as 'Audio CD' which will work on all head-units.

As for the engine oil, if you want the best protection and performance you can't go past red-line or royal purple (www.royalpurple.com.au) just email them and ask what oil you should use and they will tell you.

ausiemale > Yes the SSV stereo supports MP3 CDs.

Ridin-High > That is a good question... Id PRESUME it would, most players nowadays support CDRWS, I think its become a problem of the past. however i dont know for sure, and i cant try it out for you until i go back to work later in the week.
Surely someones got a MP3-capable VE and a CDRW lying around somewhere??

As for folder layout, I was playing around with an mp3 cd in one last week and it was quite capable. Just throw each band in its own folder i suppose. It even had support for playlists!

I know it might have been mentioned once or maybe even twice before but it would pay to do a bit of a search before asking what oil is best to use There appears to be a plethora of threads being started by people asking this very question over and over and over and over and over and (you get the idea).

I've had no problems using rewritable CDs in the Berlina, using both MP3 and WMA files. However, most of the time I've just been using my MP3 player plugged into the stereo. Too easy.
