hey guys,

i have recently come into some money and figured why not waste it on my ute. it has all the bolt ons but im thinking i might aswell go forced induction.

i have a budget of about 25,000 give or take a few hundred but i need to rebuild my diff and trans since i dont thinkit will hold much more power.

what do you guys recomend ive read all the turbo and supercharger stuff but cant seem to decide.

any opinions would be much appriciated
cheers

$25000!!!!

Mate you will have spare change from that no worries! For security sake I would get your trans and diff looked at so that you can confidently up the boost on whatever you get. You havent specified what your bolt ons are so you may need to upgrade your exhaust system to a twin 3 inch and some 4-1 headers. Fuel system will need to be looked at along with valve springs at the least.
It all depends on how far you want to go. I would personally go a blower over a turbo setup. But if you want turbos there is the Gen TT here which is a great bang for buck system but if you have the dollars I would look at and APS system.
In the way of blowers with the money you are looking at I would go a whipple. One of the forum members is also starting to look at being a distributor for Ken Belle (kenne belle) cant remember how its spelt but its a blower kit that is definitely the goods. Just do a search on the forum here and youtube. Youtube has got great vids of some cars (mainly mustangs) with the ken belle systems on them.
As always just speak to your tuner after you have narrowed your choices down and they will be able to steer you in the right direction.
Good luck!

The best advice i can give you, is experience as many packages that your interested in, and make the right descion the first time. Remember lots of people will tell you what you should be buying, but in the end, buy what you like.

Research research research !

I change my mind a couple of times a week, but if i had the dollars, id go 402, or a forged 346 with a twin screw blower. :driving: Nothing against the other kits out there, these options are just the things that appeal to me. There is no shove like a whipple, and you cant beat the feeling of a stroker.

If your after the rush of top end, then a TT kit would be the go, they do feel very quick :)

Half ya luck mate

Do what you want mate.

$25000 wont get you that far into a house, it'd be a deposit on a vacant block though.

Can't do burnouts in a block though dude, do what you feel, remember, you cant take it with you.

The bloke came on here asking for opinions on modifying his car, not whether to spend it on a house or not.

Personally, I would go a TT. And with the amount of money u have, u should end up with a fair bit of change too.

Buy a house, purchase land, maybe a wine collection, or even a race horse etc. Look all great ideas but at the end of the day you've come to a car forum for a few car suggestions.

As others have said .. you live in Adelaide, go see Tuna just to get an idea of the turbo option.

Dont rush into anything and as Blooness said .. research it thoroughly.

I like the turbo option as it seems to work very well on other cars (F6,STi, Evo, plus the Euros) but I too dont know enough so I'll be following the sugestions from others.

Good luck though.

Perhaps a trade in and update to a HSV VZ R8 Maloo? Just throwing in ideas

Scott

ps .. A managed share portfollio will give you greater returns ;)

If your gunna blow it on the ute, factor on a brake upgrade first, and insurance, and...

You could always sell your VY and use the additional $25K to buy a brand spankin SSV. If that doesnt float your boat, you could always buy a car that has already had the work done to it.

I think the latter option definitely has its advantages but then again you may want to be involved in the process beginning to end instead of buying a car already worked on.

Personally, if I had that kind of money floating around, I would get this car.

i agree! :werd: thats a house deposit right there!

BUT
If you're dead set on modifying the car, go a turbo kit, get your trans and diff beefed up and have some fun :D
