gday fellas
looking at a SS ute to run around in.now i have a couple of look at one is a VU2 with very low kms (45k) loaded with extras (tub liner ,leather ,hard cover, soft tonneau, towbar ) or a VY (60k kms) with nothing on it at all.It is lowered which is a bonus as i would do that anyway. Both are factory ie no edit or exhaust etc.both are similar price. What's the general consensus ?Interested in opinions for/against. I have found VY generally allround better thing than VX ,but the VU is loaded with exxy extras. The Vy is a manual which i would prefer the VU2 is auto.
cheers

ps btw ryno insurance ,often mentioned in here, have given me a awesome insurance quote too ( for Sydney anyway :p )

Go the VY, autos are sluggish and sound like turd! I like the VU shape more, but manuals are the way to go and the VY is newer and already lowered for you.

Auto is only sluggish in factory form. Once the shift points have been squeezed, the auto comes alive. It will have you neck snapping through all the gears with a satisfying chirp into second with minimal effort after a tune. Go a VY auto (only because I have biased passion for Hot House Green auto SS utes)

Manuals are great and will always benefit the weekend driver over an auto but only go for a manual if that is what you want.

depends what you enjoy more, changing gears or letting the car do it all for you.

Personally i'd go the VY because i prefer manuals and its newer.

go vy, they are soo much better inside the cab.
you will sell it easier in a few years than the vu being a manual, cos most young blokes want a manual
