OK just need to get it out of my system.
My dogs have managed to chew up the second car cover now. The new one I bought just this past saturday and got home last night and its chewed to bits. Then when I got up this morning to put the bin out and walked down the passenger side I saw that one of the lil fookers decided that my mirror would make a tasty treat. Tooth marks, scratches, gouges all over the housing.
When I saw that I was :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
So now I need a new mirror. Holden dealer says about $210 then gotta paint it for a new one.
I've been looking around on ebay and can find non-genuine ones for alot less

has anybody had any experience/problems with fitting non-genuine mirrors?

when they chewed up $600 worth of sunnies and glasses and presciption sunnies that belongs to the missus I was OK. When they chewed up my phone I was OK, when they chewed up the retic I was OK, when they took out a couple of trees I was OK but I'll be dammed if they are gonna start chewing my car!!! That's just crossing the line.
Where's Dr Harry??? :lmao:

damn, im lucky
i got a bull mastive crossed with great dane.
Luckily mine doesnt eat holdens though, and so far he's only pissed on my ford work ute (theres a good boy!) and a landcruiser's wheels.
Unlike how your dog's seem to be, mine respects and protects my car. One night i went to the shed, dog couldn't see me but could hear my car door open and started barking like there was no tomorrow! As soon as he saw me emerge he was fine.
Anyways back on track, ive known a couple ppl that have fitted non genuine mirrors, i havent heard them complain of any difficulties.

you never know how much that auction will end at...personally mate spend the extra on a genuine...painting it wouldnt be more than a carton of beer or $50 cash...but thats me...young and dumb and spend too much money on cars anyway
i got my two piece engine covers painted for $50 cash and your mirror is smaller

Don't go aftermarket crap - unless you thinking of selling ya car in next year or so.
Doesn't line up with mounting points on door.
If your fussy, you won't bother with aftermarket.
Genuine all the way.
Maybe even try a wrecker for a mirror already painted in your colour.
cheers

and people complain about cats on the car - I know I rather clean off paw prints than come home to a half eaten car! :D

when I cleaned the car on the weekend I also discovered that one of them decided that my car would make a nice play ground and decided to have a little run up on the bonnet!!!!! :cussing: :cussing:
Gonna go to a panel beater accross the road form work today. Hopefully the scratched can get buffed out on the bonnet.
Needless to say car has now been moved to an alternate location.

I've got the same problem (previous owner clipped a pole??? and held on with magical duct tape at the moment) and have ordered a genuine mirror.
Does anybody have any knowledge on how to fit them?
I haven't had a look yet so dont know what's involved. If anyone has any helpful tips on fitting that would be great.
Cheers,
Shmacky

Thanks for that Callan. I've got it sorted now. Teeth/bite/chew marks arent as bad as I first thought and they are repairable and the scratches on the bonnet are not that deep that they can be buffed out.
