ANZAC DAY Supercruise 12 April 25

** ANZAC Day 25 April Supercruise destination now confirmed as Oran Park***

Supercruise is no longer to the Gong! The permit got rejected by Wollongong Police and Council.

For those that dont know The Supercruise is the annual ANZAC Day event and is the biggest car cruise of the year without a doubt! Here's what happened last yr: There was no 'official' meet pt but only a destination. There were lots of little meet points for different ppl/clubs. I personally met Albert and the MOPAR boys at Kingsgrove shell (the only real meet pt of the organiser). I then met St Commodore peeps at Roselands, which i organised, then met some of my personal mates at Heathcoate macca's along the way.

The cops have disallowed the permit for the Supercruise to be anywhere in Wollongong/ Albion Park! He has had a permit for the past 11 years, and this year they have said NO! If he turns up there, he will get served a new asshole, and smacked with heavy fines!

The problem about changing venues to Oran Park will be everyone is used to heading to the gong of the past decade on ANZAC day so its going to be hard for everyone to break tradition, and to let everyone know there will be a venue change. Its the biggest cruise of the year!

So support the cause, all proceeds go to Childrens Hospital Weastmead... lets keep this event alive!

I'll be personally meeting a few people from different forums at Roselands carpark at 9.30am just off King George's Rd then heading to Oran Park. There is no official meet points this year but the Kingsgrove Shell which they meet up at gets very packed very quickly. I thought Roselands was a good idea since we met there a few years back and its nearby the M5. Let me know if your interested in coming. I hope to meet some of you either at Roselands or Oran Park. i think heaps of people will still end up going to the gong because they wont have heard of the new destination. last year i just went to the gong and watched the cars cruise the streets, didnt even know where the official metting place was till after the event. either way there was a crazy amount of cars there, more than enough to keep me interested for the day.

Last year as with the year before was at Albion Park, behind the KFC and servo. There is a massive baddock behind it and we all chilled there. They have now concreted the whole area just for supercruise but we cant go there no more.. what a waste!

Im trying to get the word out that if people head to Wollongong the police will be out in force this year and i don't think they will be kind. I can almost guarantee harsh defect dtations, cos the council & cops don't want the 'hoons' to be in Wollongong on ANZAC Day. The cops even went so far as to call the Childrens Hospital and told them that the rejected the permit for the cruise. I mean its for a great cause and last year not a single person did anything stupid.
