Hey all the past couple of days ive noticed that when i get in the car and reverse on flat ground i hear a sloshing sound come from ( i think) the front of the car.
Sounds very strange. It may not be from front because sounds are hard to pinpoint but it sounds like from the front.
Anyone else experince anything similar or have any ideas.
You wouldnt be able to hear petrol sloshing around in a sedan would ya?

Cheers

Check that your door drains aren't blocked - could be water sloshing around in them (there are 2-3 holes in the bottom edge of each door).

Not a badly leaking heater core? Sloshing round in the heater box? Or blocked drains for the skuttle (vents at base of windscreen on outside), this could be full of water.

Just the fuel sloshing around in the tank? I can hear mine sloshing about when i stop and turn the car off. Usually only happens when i get to the southern side of half a tank.

Make sure your air con drain is letting water out. Check the water it lets out too. Make sure it doesn't smell like coolant as in an earlier reply. At least you will eliminate 2 things from your search.

I have the same problem but in a ute. It seems that after heavy rain its there. The problem with mine is that its getting inside the cabin. After a long weekend of heavy rain the drivers side carpet was soaked. I have taken the carpet out to dry & left it out to find where its coming from. That was 3 weeks ago & still no clue because by the time I've noticed it the water has spread from front to back or vice versa.
Its got me stumped.
Check that under your carpet isnt wet.

Time to trade up on a new VE I think.
