Hi guys. I'm recovering well after my spinal surgery, and have started driving (Yeah baby!)

Anyway, my Xtreme HD cushion button clutch is just way tooooo heavy for me to be using, especially after the surgery. BTW, it is a couple of years old with 30k on it, so it's not as light on the foot as the newer ones like TUF057 has. I went to Race Brakes on racecourse rd Melbourne today, and spent some time discussing the workings and options for what may be possible to lighten the load. The fellow was speaking to the guys in SA regarding some specs, and possibility of changing the master cylinder, increasing flows and bla bla bla... He's going to get back to me

So, what I want is some good old suggestions for fixing the problem, or, upgrading to a Tex. If the ater is the only option, which model and why.

It needs to comfortably hold 250 - 320 rwkw, be light (no more than 10% heavier than stock) and be a joy to drive. Not much at all really!

PS: I have another complete xTreme cushion clutch (cover, Flywheel and pressure plate) and the stock one here at home.

Looking forward to your input folks....

Cheers,

Get a Tex mate. Same as stock feel but holds anything you can throw at it.

I had both on my old car, whilst the Xtreme can handle the power like the Tex, it is a lot heavier than the Tex.
Try and drive a Tex, before you buy. As voodoo has said, they are like stock clutches. Just make sure you run it in properly if you do.

Panelman , Firstly ,Good to hear your opp went well & you are back behind the wheel !

Secondly , Do yourself a big favour & have a TEX installed . Even the heavier of the 2 ( X or Z Grip ) being the Z you should be more then comfortable with as the pedal feel is not that much heavier than stock ! Shoot a PM off to Plan B ( Peter ) & i'm sure he will give you the exact pressures of both clutches !

All the best with your recovery !

Cheers
Troy

What is the average price including install for a Tex then? Which should I go for in models? I've searched, but the results aren't giving me much light!

Any recommendations for melbourne? G&D I know have interest free purchases now, which would be very handy until tax time.. (Everyone's hangin for that I bet)

I only put in the Xtreme 'cause it was really cheap.

Hi Panelman,

Give us a bell when you’re ready. You can call me personally on 0414 606 966

We can go lighter than a stock pedal and still hold reasonable power whilst making it nice to drive….

Someone told me about your problem the other day and I’m sorry to hear about this. I’m certain we can help!

Pete

Far Out!

Guys, i felt a tex clutch pedal today, in a well featured black VE (You'd know the one... it's a monster)

All I can say is mine is filthy heavy compared to that! It felt like an accelerator pedal feel. Awesome. I had no idea how heavy mine is until today. So, now I know what feel I want.

Thanks so far for all your posts. Everyone.

Apparently mine is the older version of the Xtreme HD CB, so that is why it's sooooo heavy. You can't change the cover either to make it lighter under foot. Bugger.

Well, now to convince my wife of forking out another $1500 ! Oh Sh*t.

Good stuff, i know what you mean about heavy clutches.. currently got a Starr Performance heavy duty clutch in mine that is mega heavy, i've snapped the eyelet pin from the top of the pedal twice, going to be changed to a Tex Z-Grip next week so hopefully i get a lighter feel again... after driving my Mazda around for daily duties i'm getting used to the light girly feel clutch..
