hi,
over the last 3 month i have noticed a clutch problem,
when i engage my clutch i hear a clunking noise, it sounds like a diff clunk noise but i know it is not this because i can actully feel this clunk in the drivers seat,it is diffenently coming from the gearbox. any one had this problem before,
also when i give the car a bit of stick the clutch becomes alot firmer when changing through the gears and has alot shorter point of friction, is this normal, the car has had a tune and is over 230rwkw
thanks

Hey Farnzie,
:teach: Yeh mate i have the same problem im not sure it is the gearbox though i believe it is in the diff, but im not too sure would love to know if anyone knows what the clunking is when your put it into gear is.
Also your Clutch...............:yahoo: mines the same also and its on its way out when they start doing that, if you gas it and get up to about 3rd you struggle to put it into forth it means the clutch plates have had it and youll need a new one very shortly id say.............:cussing:
Cheers

Probably the diff and the noise is transferring through the d/t.
Clutch is wearing - adjustment? Can you get it into gear OK most of the time or do you get locked out? How many k's has this clutch done?

Hey Guys
i have been meaning to ask this same question for a while now, and instead of wasting another thred on it i tought i could ask the question here, sorry i dont mean to hijack your post.
i have a VZ R8 and sometimes when i start off in 1st gear just at friction point i get an almighty clunk the car shifts upward and the traction control light comes on. i have taken it back to HSV to tell them about the problem. but they say "beacuase we cant get it to do this clunk we are not going to open it up and look at all the diff and gear box".
just wondering if anyone has had this problem or has any idea what it could be becuase i'm out of ideas and its really started to piss me off
cheers.

You should be able to adjust the pedal with a couple of spanners (this worked on my VX). Give it a try...it can't hurt ;)
Have you changed the clutch fluid since the clutch was put in?

I too had this problem the other night. It began 'clunking' just on take off. My motor has just received some significant modifications however I never expected my clutch to last considering the reputation of the standard one. Also, when giving it stick on a cold night, when it's in 3rd or 4th, it feels as though it's either wanting to break traction or slip clutch. The clutch is losing it's 'in' or 'out' feel and is reluctant to take off from a standing start.
I have a clunking sound after a brand new textralia and a new refurb diff with 3.9 gears. It does seem to come on and off when I press the clutch in, but i've also heard it when pressing the accelerator. No idea what it could be, something in the drive train but how can you tell?
