First off as I've just registered I would like to say a big hello to all the members on this site :D.

Now the problem with the TCS on my VE SS is that when I press on the ESP button anterior to the shift stick I read an "ESP off" on the LCD screen and when pushed again it turns the ESP on, how do I turn the TCS off?
The manual says to simply press the button once to turn off the TCS, well when I do that the above happens. I tried to hold the button down but to no avail.
Although this was not stated in the manual.. is the TCS coupled with ESP so as when the ESP is off the TCS is also cut off?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Yep, ESP incorporates the old traction control system.

I was looking forward to disabeling the TCS for wheelspin while keeping the ESP on to prevent skidding.

Oh well, thanks for the response.

Hi and welcome..

Ermm I totally confused with your post.. So you want to spin your
wheels, but not skid?

I think he means a controlled burnout (or one with the aid of stability control) ... perhaps to keep the front wheels from sliding out or even the rears from stepping out ... it sounds interesting but I cant imagine this being a part of the Holden stability tuning regime ... otherwise I volunteer to be a test driver. From memory, I remember reading that HSV allows more sliding around to aid the enthusiast driver experience.

Yup, I can attest to this....ESP is always on (the R8 is my first RWD car) so it catches me when I give it too much gas coming out of a corner, but I still get 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear wheelspin in a straight line. Scared the GF yesterday with a full-throttle change from 1st to 2nd in a straight line (it's an auto).
