Check Out The "789"

The N2A company is planning a production run of about 100 vehicles.
She sits on a Corvette C6 chassis, front styled like a '57 Chevy, side like a '58, rear like a '59.
Hence the designation "789." If you're getting a bit nostalgic for the fifties, this may well be the car for you:

Call me a stick in the mud, but I don't like it.

Give me a real '57, '58 or '59 anyday. Preferably a '59. Always had a soft spot for those... :)

Edit: If they anyone imports the '789' will they have to have indicators hanging off the fins??

I think it would look great without the rear wings. Now that would make one lean and mean pose-mobile.

Combining design elements from different classic Chevrolet models, the 789 shows the world that you really can't have enough of a good thing. The 789 looks instantly iconic because it is a melding of 1957, 1958 and 1959 Chevys. Who says you can't have it all, time tested classic design and up-to-date performance and reliability. This vehicle is built on a 2005-2007 Corvette C6 chassis, virtually the same chassis that won its class at the 24 hours of LeMans for the past few years and is known in the car world as the best value in a performance chassis ever produced.

Named for the three years represented in the overall design, the 789 has the "hooded eyes" and chrome grille bar of a '57 Bel Air, a mid-section and tri-toned interior that is reminiscent of a '58 Impala and the "bird in flight" rear tailfins of a '59. These three vehicles are all instantly recognizable classics celebrated by people around the world.

No matter how well you restore a '57 Chevy or how much you update a '59, you still have a 50 year old car with its outdated technology and safety features - not to mention reliability problems. The 789 solves that with the latest in GM engineering. Get in and go anywhere, drive 190 mph if it's legal, and get 25 miles per gallon cruising on the highway.

Looks? You will have picture phones galore sending photos around the world of your one-of-a-kind ride. No two cars will have the identical paint scheme or colors, and with over 10,000 interior combinations you will never be parked next to yourself at the country club or cruise-in. Recently we attended a very fancy cruise in and there were two Ford GT's near each other, both grey, white stripe/black interior. Needless to say, all eyes were on the 789.

Kanter Concepts is the designer of the 789 and they do it the old fashioned way. The design team sketches by hand and the clay modelers do it by hand also, that's the only way to get sensuous curves and sexy features. Computers? Sure we use them, each staff member has the most complex computer known to mankind - the human brain. Want a cookie cutter car? The same computers that design cars can run a cookie factory.

The price of a turnkey 789 is $135,000, well equipped with all Corvette standard equipment including the 400 horsepower aluminum block V8 engine. In addition, each car includes a custom Borla exhaust system, PST high performance anti-sway bars and a $2,000 wheel/tire upgrade allowance. Any upgrade or modification can be done to your car at additoinal cost, from turbocharging to ceramic brakes and from a 1000 watt stereo to ostrich leather interior. Our only limit is your imagination.

I like it, something a tad old school mixed with new school...
Agree it shoudl be one colour, and DR i love the all black version...

As spank said it needs to be bright coloured like the old school models..

What a shame , they had all these great designs to play with and this is what they come up with ?

I don't mind mixing the old with the new, but these are such classic models and think they deserve a little more than this car offers.

Black IS better - just... but I still can't get past the impression that it's a 57 t-bird with 57 bel air trims, and those 59 rear fins, well - bloody awful I say!

In a word - YUCK....

Why wreck a nice C6 Corvette to make that? I can appreciate what they have tried to do but I'll take the Corvette anyday... for that much you could nearly have 2 new C6 Z06's @ US$70K ea.

I dont mind it, but the thing that really doesn't fit for me is the windshield. It just does not suit the car at all! I know its the original corvette windshield but it doesn't suit the lines of that design.

The 59 chev was the batmobile so thats why it seems batmobilish to u.
I like it, obviously it could be alot better with some small changes but its different.
Wonder what it would look like witha slightly chunkier grill.

Its funny, we all drive pretty much the exact same cars around, all commodores and monaros, wheels and colour being the major difference in looks, but we can all have such different opinions on 1 other car.

the more i look at it the more i like it until i remember that its really a corvette based kit car, i think id rather have the vette and spend the leftovers on mods for it

Or can we get it with a 1957 VIN so we don't have to convert it to RHD here.......
