Even if I could get some prices that other people have paid for a short block as this option seems big in the USA would help me decide weather to import or source localy.
Thanks

You are probably aware of the SDPC short blocks in the US. I've got a brochure here from a Perth workshop that imports them. For a 402 (4.00" crank in LS2 block) they want $6690 + GST. There are various other combinations up to 440ci using L92 & LS7 blocks and 4.100" cranks. No iron blocks in the brochure.
I'm sure some of the sponsors here could help you.
