che did some tuning recently and the software is available
you will spend more than the difference at purcahse getting it to 6L speed however, but small gains can be had. good luck

My previous car was a BA fairmont 6cyl 4spd automatic (not quite a v6 but similar lol). Didn't dyno it but I reckon it was producing close to 160kw at the wheels. It was good enough to run the quarter mile in 14.8 seconds, even with a crap 2.48 second 60ft launch (lots of wheelspin). With a 2.2 or 2.3 I would have run a 14.5/14.6 second 1/4 mile. Anyway, it wasn't fast enough for me so I sold it. Will be getting an SS or an XR6 Turbo next and aiming for the 13s :driving:.
Ummmmmmmmm. LS1 = V8 ............6cyl? Whats that?

v6's go well, keep up with stock v8's for a bit. extractors exhaust tune them make a good street car. you don't need 400 hp for the street, can't use all that power legally on the road.
V6 are noit lacking for the street, racing that another matter, can go further i think i heard ST is doing a turbo or twin turbo for them. that would be good knock off most of the v8's then

yeah if you want more power for youre V6 look at the 1989TTA (Turbo-Trans-Am) it had the same 3800 V6 that was used in the VN with a fue little upgrades it was putting out factory rated 250HP (under rated)
Get all the stats of that car and boost youre stock 3.8L to 250HP+
There was actualy a kit you could buy, id say someone in Australia would have something similar.

My car is great, practical and delivers enough punch for most occasions. The 3.8 has plenty of power for me. 0-60km there wouldn't be great difference between a most V8 and V6 Holdens. I have better things to spend my money on.

G'day
PSI38L that is very impressive mate well done and have you seen the new twin throttle body from COME racing
There are a few stroker kits available for the V6 which will make the V8s look twice, then if you boost them just sit and wait till they catch up LOL:driving:

Youve turned this into a bit of a pissing contest mate, there was a v6 in the s/c mag not long ago that looked pretty mean. psi38l, thats a nice looking ride you got there mate, well done.

I recently had my vy v6 ute dynoed an it dynoed at 124.6 rwkw which is pretty good considering it only has a cat back 21/4 duel exhaust!! And its run 15.4@89mph but i had a pod filter in a custom air box when i ran that time. But i only drive a v6 because im on p plates!! They are definatly a waste of money as far as mods go!

Typical, the V8 boys have turned this into mine is bigger than yours. People with V6's don't need to brag. :)
But fellas. Its a V8 Holden Forum. Talk about 6s or frauds at your own peril.

ok then if this is a V8 forum why has there been so many responses to the Diesel Commodore, I for one love the idea of holden looking elsewhere for power to drive there cars. i can only hope that we will all be able to see it happen at a reasonable price.:driving:
i love my V8s as i grew up with them as all young blokes with testesterone flowing through there body would but as stated in a previous thread the V6 is pulling more power than the older V8s.
The V6 has a "V" in there also just like the V8:dancenana:
