For those in SA who haven't heard the Winton round is being broadcast at 10.30pm on the Sunday night 20th May 07. It hasn't taken long for V8 Supercars to allow Channel 7 to go against what they said wouldn't be happening from the coverage that was supposed to surpass all previous coverage. For those who want this changed email V8 Supercars and ring Channel 7.
Thanks

I did see that, as much as i dont enjoy the V8s as i used to, im still dissapointed, taking on the AFL contract as well as the V8SC was a bad move on their part, 10.30 is a crock for those that need to work monday, for uni students and nocturnal people like me it isnt as bad, but still, its a croc

That is total BS, i am so sick of football taking presidence over everything else on tv.
I too wonder what will happen with W.A's coverage. Will we even get it?

I just hope AVESCO tell channel 7 to stick there contract and go back to channel 10.

Surely if 7 have promised this great coverage there would be a clause in the contract that AVESCO could use to exit and go back to channel 10 who's coverage I thought was excellent.

This lack of coverage could only do the sport no good as lack of exposure and advertising will lead to less people interested in following the sport.

Daz

Its all about money and 7 were the highest bidder. Do you seriously think AVESCO give a shit when they show it as long as they get their money?

I just went on the seven website and all the televised times are on there. Its NOT like Winton is a bloody international race that it has to be on late because of time difference! Seven is so greedy for sport they get too much at a time and they clash. Football is given priority over everything. Not happy with seven!

Yeah I think they will give a damn. They might have the fat payout now but like I said earlier at the end of the day lack of exposure to the sport will end up effecting their hip pockets which makes any company/business sit up and take notice.

Football isn't even a proper sport. Time to go do skids outside CH7

I'm sure Channel 7 aren't going outside of their contract with AVESCO, so bottom line is AVESCO would have been aware that incidents like this would happen but the almighty $$ won out in the end.

Thats what I was thinking, why would Adelaide be different than the Eastern states? The Football is more popular over there isnt it?

Oh well will have to set the PVR and watch it later, scooting through the adverts at 5X:p

Not that it helps but they did announce this when they announced Channel 7 taking the coverage - it is no surprise to AVESCO or to anyone who saw the announcement .... at the very least they should offer it to Fox Sports if they are not going to show it live.

Even here in Sydney I have been disappointed , we could have easily seen all 3 races from NZ live but we didn't. In my mind the overall "look and feel" of the telecast is great , the increased ads ( to pay for the rights ) are bloody awful and a real intrusion ... I managed to mow the lawns & paint the house & cook the dinner during one ad break from NZ ;) and the reality so far is no real extra live coverage!!!

Ahh.. maybe the AFL has contracted Channel 7 to to kill V8's so there is less competition in the sports ratings?? LOL

I think 7 have completely fcuked both sports, how can they say the fans win when we often don't have any footy on till very late afternoon and then they root the V8 coverage with 2 hours of ads in a 3 hour show.

I feel for you guys in S.A.

Channel 7 have failed to keep their promise........

I'm not that keen on Channel 7's job with the V8's so far anyway.

I think they are a bunch of try-hards trying to keep us V8 fans happy.

Personally, I was much happier with Channel 10's broad cast of the V8's.................
