Just asking a question here. I have been a member of this forum for a while and would like to get validated - and due to work and family commitments can't always attend cruises etc. From what I gather from the last LS1 Cruise here in Perth, there are heaps of other unvalidated forum members here who would like to get validated, which means validated members get bombarded with PM's about validation.
Might I suggest we have a "validation" run or meeting or something so those of us that want to get validated can do so without have to jump through so many hoops? Everybody that wants to get validation gets covered in one go and everyone is happy.

Mate i live 1600k's north of perth. my chances of getting validated by going on a cruise are none to zero.
I dont think u HAVE to go on a cruise. You just need to make friends on here and give useful feedback and maybe someone will recomend you for validation.

Where abouts in the Pilbara are you located? I may know someone in the area who you could meet and get validated.

Nevermind, if your 1600k's from perth. You must be in Karratha or Port Hedland. I'm guessing the latter.

Just incase you dont know. It takes 2 people to validate you. If you do something on the forum that results in some sort of "punishment", if the mods follow the rules to the letter, then the 2 people that nominated you will have the same "punishment" applied to them too.

You have to be careful who you nominate as it can come back at you,

That's the part of the Forum, you get to know people thru this Forum and if you can manage to attend cruises it makes the personal contact more prevelant.

The validated members that vouch for you are responsible for your behaviour on the Forum, so how can they vouch for someone when they don't know them.

I've had about 15 PM's from non validated members after the cruise to be validated. How can I do this if I don't know them ?

You can meet people at meets or online via PM, phone calls, IRC. Plenty of great people on here to get to know.

The thing is tho, that just because 2 validated people meet you... doesnt mean they will request your validation, because as its been said, they dont ACTUALLY KNOW YOU and can end up coping it in the ass if you stuff up somehow.
From what i gather being validated means that you have been allowed to join a group and have privledges because you have shown yourself to be a responsible person and not another bandwagon jumping member for the sake of looking cool.

There are perks im guessing but its not the be all and end all. Any PM's you want to keep, just copy and past in MS Word or something.

Cmon people, enjoy the info and threads. Dont worry about the whole validation stuff!!

Spot on mate!! Its not that big a deal. Few tiny perks but nothing huge.
