Seats: HSV VE R8 Verses VE SS

Does anyone know for sure if the standard seats (front and back) from a HSV VE R8 are identical to those in a VE SS.

Reason is I have seen a set of seat trim covers on e-bay off a VE R8 and was thinking of changing my VE SS covers for them. Only thinking of doing this purely for cosmetics to get rid of a bit of the red on the OEM VE SS seats. Bit too much red in it for me.

Maybe someone with access to part numbers or a trimmer could answer this

Mate, don't quote me, but in all other HSV versions the seats have been totally different in the HSVs. I doubt that the covers for the R8 would fit a VE SS.

The back rest may be the same on the R8 (not sure) but the bottom is not from memory ...

Also just had a closer look on my SS and the SS rear seats have built in head rests where it looks like the VE R8 have adjustable ones. Oh well another good idea down the drain :(

The back seat is probably the same but I doubt the fronts would be. I would say more lateral support & bolstering in the HSV seats, not to mention the different head rest setup.

I have seen the VE HSV seat foams for sale on Ebay, maybe you can buy both & transfer across to your original rails & frames?

Looked at these but the trouble is I can't find a trimmer who hays the patterns for them yet, hence price for trimming goes up. Also not sure if the current VE cloth trim is available to buy.
