Can anyone tell me if the VE HSV GTS Cats are the same as the Holden VE SS Cats or are they bigger / better and are they interchangeable?
Cheers

Tony, I'm no expert but I believe the HSV ones on VE are much better than the standard Holden ones. A few people have gone from HSV stuff to full Pacemakers and hi flow cats and it seems they only pick up about 4 or 5 rwkw.

That's why I decided to buy someone's HSV stuff after they upgraded and have them put on my SSV. Must admit that when I emailed DiFilippos along the way Darren was pretty disparaging of the HSV stuff, even on the VE, although he does have a vested interest. :)

The inlet flange position is different so they are not interchangeable without modification. Whether there is any other difference I'm not certain but they sure look very similar. I suspect the reason the HSVs are better is the headers alone, not the cats.

Thanks for the replies guys. The reason I was asking is due to a HSV VE GTS complete system including extractors and cats on e-bay for a very cheap price

No use to me as I have already had extractors and a 2 ½” cat back fitted but someone on a tight budget may be interested

Gee, that is well priced.

Even if one went out an got the system as 'Buy Now' its still a great score.

Did you encounter many problems fitting the LS2 headers to the L98 ? I would have thought with different heads there may be some issues .

I believe the only issue was something to do with access to the dipstick which took them a while to work out a solution for. Apart from that apparently straightforward.

Hi Tony,
I did a Clubby recently and as far as Im concerned apart from the headers and the alloy tips, the rest of the system is identical to what I took off your car. I am about to do cams, tune and big exhaust on two GTS's this Thursday, I will give you a call when one is finished so you can have a listen.

Yep it looks the same as mine as well. even the cats look identical except for the flanges and the headers ofc.

cheers

Sorry, not sure. Will try to remember to ask next time I'm at G&D or just PM Matt there.

This seller did have 3 systems a week or so ago. Might be worth a direct approach to him.

Same seller is selling the HSV VE R8 wheels and tyres however he did mention to me in an e-mail that he had spoken to the owner of these so I am assuming he is some sort of exhaust shop or the like.

Hope this has helped some forum members
