Ok quick search but nothing really recent

After looking at a few VZ SS's the really good ones seem to be fetching stupid money and I can't see the point in getting a VZ when the far superior VE SS (non-V) is not really much more expensive!

So what sort of price can they be had for brand new? I will be negotiating when some dealers this week.

Just basic SS, metallic paint and 6spd what are they worth drive away? because they advertise them at $45,990+ ORC but realistically they can be had for 44-45K driveaway is that about right?

I paid $48,500 drive away for a manual one with leather, so if you take out the cost of the leather then that's more like $46k drive away. $44-45k should be doable if you find a dealer willing to move a little further.

Bear in mind though that I got my price in January after a couple of horrific sales months for the VE, whereas they seem to be more popular at the moment.

If you can't get a VZSS for at least $10K less than that you are not looking hard enough.

The VZ SS's that I can find in Melb at dealers for 34K are crap 40-50K kms no leather and horrible colours. The better ones are all 36-38K

I NEED to buy from a dealer as I want to trade my car, the only VZ SS's I would pay money for were stickered at 37-38K + ORC and they would only throw ORC in on the deal, so for 6K more why not buy brand new? plus on a new car I get 2K better value on my trade it so it makes it only cost $4K more to go brand new!

Yeah just the more I looked at VZ's I would of wanted the last of the model being the 06 with 6lt but they are asking premium prices for those that aren't in white still 38-40k ! + ORC whaaaa? dream on!

Thats almost exactly what I paid for my auto as well. Manuals can be had cheaper than that I am told.

cheers

Don't forget there are still quite a few 06 models around. Some strong haggling should result in a tidy saving

I wish! Less than $1,000 on cars in this price range. From memory the old rates on new vehicles were a) under $35,000 = 2.5% b) $35,000 - $44,999 = 4% c) $45,000 up = 5%. Now all vehicles up to $57,000 are 2.5%.

I know that imported cars such as Astra have different build dates and compliance date but I thought that Commodores only have a built date.
Is this correct or have they changed the Commodores to be the same as the imported cars??

Dont really know the answer to that all i can tell ya is that the build plate is dec 06 but the vin number when you break it down says its a 2007 model!!

I may be getting mixed up with my terms here but thats the way it was put to me by the service guys.

Marco

Yeah, the VIN will tell you it's a model year 2007 car (I think all 2006 VEs are MY07 anyway?), but the build date is Dec 06 and that's what will matter down the track at trade in time.

mine is an 04/07 made but has an 08 complience in the VIN number

Marco

Hmm, okay - my 2/07 build has 07 in the VIN. Maybe Holden quietly made some changes in April and declared the start of MY08?

DONE!!!

The VE 6lt is such a joy to drive within 20sec I was in love

Will name the price and Dealer I went through once I confirm it is ok with them ;)

But basically I got it

- VE-SS 6M 07
- Nickel
- Tinted Windows
- Tank of Gas
- SS Mats
- Slimline plates
- Locknuts
- Supersport 20's
- 4kms on it! I test drove it for another 12 :)

Absolutely rapt! I cannot wait to get out of this STI and into the SS!! fingers crossed by Friday! when pics will come.

What an animal I love this car and cannot wait to drive off in it and spend $150 on petrol the first weekend LOL

Just a heads up to those interested in buying from Melbourne.

Go see Scott Williams 0407 866 403 he is at the Ferntree Gully Dealership and did me a ripper of a price on the above, pretty much all of the above extras for WELL under what the regular RRP on the VE-SS is with no extras! Very happy and painless process now to get the damn thing on the road!

PS how freakin big is that spoiler in the rear mirror? lol
