Hi All
I had installed a SS Induction big mouth CAI on my VY SS. After reading a few threads here concering SS Induction, I decided to take POS out. It has since mad a rattling noise in the engine bay and for the life of me I cant figure out where its coming from. At first it was intermittent but now its just constant and its driving me bonkers. I checked every component and they are all secured so I dont know what it could be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Does it do it at idle or when revving the motor in neutral? if so get someone to rev it while you check it and see if you can see/hear whats making the noise.

I am assumming you put a Monaro or HSV CAI in there??
Are all the rubber gromets in the bottom of the airbox still secure? There is one inside, one under the coolant tank and one outside at the front. Make sure the ABS line is out the way too.

isn't it just the original ss inductions that was proven to be crap?
I thought the "big mouth" was given the all clear
And no, I dont want to turn this into a ss reductions bashing thread!!!

No Seedy, you're confusing the 'Big Mouth' with the 'GROWLER!' Different ends, so to speak.....
Hmmm, good names, pity the componentry doesn't do all that it is supposed to.
Cheers,

Its pretty much constant through idle and during driving. The sound is drowned out by the exhaust whilst driving, thats the only sanity saving factor. It reaches its peak on the friction point of the clutch when the car just starts moving. I have gone through the engine bay thoroughly and cant pin point the location. :cussing:

No, it was a SS Inductions Big Mouth. Had to screw the air deflection plate into the air condenser so Im thiking that may have caused the problem. The airbox is definitely secure but Ill go check the ABS line tonight.
