This might be a wild guess but " ages ago we chopped me springs in me VT" <<-- that could be it.
Dont stuff around with $200 springs, get it done properly (and legally). Go get a $15 pedders check and they will find the problem very quickly. Id say you destroyed your strut top bearings.

In the top mount of the struts, there is a big rubber mount, in that mount is a plastic bearing which allows for the struts to turn. I have seen soooooo often with cut springs that the bearing fails (Cracks etc). If thats not it, my next bet would be that you have noyt mounted the bearing correctly. Very common mistake when people change there own springs the first time.
Go to holden or where ever you buy your genuine parts, order part number 92046063, then go to a suspension shop and get some correctly designed lower coils (Kings, Lovells etc). Then go home, pull it all apart and do it again. jsut make sure the bearing is in correctly (you will see what im saying when you take a closer look).
Good luck
Cheers

When you choppped the spring, did each end of the spring sit in the designated areas? If not your springs may be mounted incorrectly on the strut.

There is no such thing as a Z sway bay links
You have Link pins which attach to the swap bar and the strut. cost is around $48 inc the pins.
A radius rod (also called a Z bar) with has a large rubber bush in front (radius rod bush, PN 48166 from Nolathane) and the rear lower control arm bushes.
Strut top bearings which you can also get with a camber adjustment from Kmac
Which ones were replaced?

I still believe from what you say, its the bearing at the top of the strut.

I got new Ultima Shortened Shock Towers!!
New Lovells Super Low Springs
New Head Rubbers, New top bearings, and new bump stops!
New Z Shaped Sway bar links with new bushes!
It still makes the creaking noise! i was told by tubular suspension its the lower rubber is missing underneath the spring, theres one on the top but not on bottom.
Voodoo, its a Z shaped. Swaybar link pin with all nolathane bushes
