Yet ANOTHER rwkw and fwkw question......!
You lose approx one third, or just under, in drivetrain loses. They have 307fwkw. You can do the rest.

Perhaps re-read the question mate:)

Mine made 239 at the nats, and 236 on Chevs dyno 2 weeks ago.

I think Tone's is a manual. An auto made (from memory) 228 or 229rwkw.

Tuna, I'd be very interested in knowing which were auto and which manual if you still know please. Were they all stock or did some have mods?

I havent dynoed mine ...

Geez ... you would be pretty pleased with 249rwkw stock ... I wonder what the run-in proceedure on that one was and the fuel it used.

Perhaps it was a Wednesday build ...

My GTS Auto on Chevs Dyno Made 228.7rwkw. Completely stock standard with only 3000ks on the clock.

Let the mods begin......:) Cheers John

PS. This is almost identical to the R8 Sonny dynoed on his New build TT Car.229rwkw

Wow! that theory makes my 240.3 RWKW VE SSV Manual (Chevs dyno last saturday) 319 FWKW. I must of got THE good one for that production day. :smilesandbanana:

Chev was talking a 23% loss through the manual drive train. That still makes my VE SSV at 296 FWKW a good one.

Cheers

Do you have the graph? It would be good to compare the curves with a HSV on the same dyno ...

Sure have. check out http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=74712&page=17

Still got room for improvement.

I have re-read it, and the answer is the same!
Cars lose a relatively even amount through the drivetrain, so 307kW (standard) ends up around the amount I said at the rear wheels.
It's no rocket science.
But, if people want to get into a pissing contest and say that X dyno gave more power than someone elses Y dyno, go ahead.
There was no mention of modified models, so what's the purpose of finding out one standard model had 1 massive kW than another one? I don't trust most companies dyno printouts as far as I can throw them. That industry has a fair number of shonky players giving big readouts for large wads of your cash.
(have stopped now, need to slip on the flame suit)

Hehe....did you now....:1peek:

He didn't ask how to convert fwkw to rwkw as far as I can tell budski.....what he did ask was what people are seeing at the rears of their GTS's:)

I agree, there are plenty more variables in dyno's than what there is in manufacturing tolerances.

Having said all that, I do believe specific cars will produce more power than others after 5000km if they are run in a particular way.

So, after saying that. What we should do is ask the GTS guys/ or Tuna to ask the blokes that ran
249
246
245
if they all had the same transmission/roughly same milage, how did they drive there car when brand new? Did they redline? Hold high rpm? Avoid high rpm? Long drives/short drives?

Well, when mine was dynoed it showed 1700 km the first time, so it should free up a bit more, maybe get another 5rwkw???

I ran mine in as gentle as anything.

Yeah, you never know what more you could get. Although its a different car, my old BA GT-P A4 ran 209rwkw with 800km on the clock, then 229rwkw at 5000km.

Out of interest, you should give it another dyno at 5000km....................

Alex(AUS)

Well Marranos did report 229rwkw with 9! Km on the clock ... that car had no runin proceedure so that should be the benchmark at Marranos. If that car picks up 20kw (like the BA) that would bring it to 249rwkw which has been seen through Tuna and Marranos ... therefore ... if you are seeing 229rwkw (Manual) after 5000km the run in proceedure may have been wrong ...

And, just on a side note, I have read the HSV inspection report that comes with the freebie kit. One of the tests says WOT to 80km/h. Now, I bet that ends up finishing at the end of second or 106km/h or so ... for those that thought they shouldnt redline their cars new it has already been done for you ...
