Is that 556mm or 55.6mm, as far as i know it has to be at least 100mm to be legal if that helps :)

that was the after measure by pedders its not 56 from the ground not sure how they measured . does anyone know? my clearance would be greater than 100mm . it was originally 585mm before the shocks and springs? i know nothing about these sorts of things. i need an expert in these matters.:bawl:

The only thing you need to worry about is clearance under the car - the lowest point of the vehicle must be 100 mm. i.e. exhaust, sills, spolier etc must have at least 100 mm between them and the ground.

alot of places measure from center of the rim to the guard, pedders measure from the bottom of the rim to the guard so thats what that measurement is.
The only thing you have to worry about is that the lowest part of ur car has 100mm clearance from the ground.(as drew said)
If it does then it is legal, mines was fe2 so slightly lower than stock suspension, then I dropped it 25mm with sportsryders and its still way more than 100.
All u need to tell insurance is that u have suspension hat is not standard, it was fitted by professionals and it is at a legal height.

Hope that helps.

thanks for the replys i have the shocks and springs in the rear which pedders call their fe2 style setup. in the front it remains standard so the car sits level. i just measured the lowest part(exhaust) and it is 150mm or more above the groiund. so as it is noted on the policy i shouldnt have an issue.:)

does anyone know where you can source the relevant legislation?

update: south aust dept transport measure the distance from the centre of wheel to wheel arch (eyebrow measure) giving a minimum height of 380mm mine is 365mm. holden and pedders measure off the bottom of the rim which gives a slightly different measure making mine less illegal. however the insurance will cover me for any damage not directly attributable to the lower suspension ie if you bottom out and break something your problem. have a smash and they will cover damage as long as the suspension does not contribute to the damage. difficult to prove either way i imagine. i wish our system was more simple like the 100mm rule , it may eventuate as they do regularly change their measuring procedure. thanks for the help and any further comment, help or advice would be greatly appreciated. i think i will leave it as is for the present as it rides well and hasnt been a problem for clearance.

if it becomes a problem when loaded i will put in air adjustable shocks to compensate

Poly Air Air Bags. Load up the ass and no sink....

These are helper airbags that compensate for load. I don't notice any ride degredation with no load but I have 20's so it is not that great anyway...

Cheers

do they fit inside your original springs?
