Having now seen a number of commodores getting around, I find it very difficult at a glance to tell the SV6, SS and SSV apart. I think H should make a more concerted effort in the next model to ensure the SSV stands out from the crowd. Even if its just specific colours or spoiler mods.

Cheers

Never noticed that lol, but the tail lights and the little red v are dead giveaways.

I think that is exactly what Holden want you to think. It is the sports model with different levels of equipment.

I did say "at a glance". I guess i will have to buy an hsv to get the sort of differentiation that i'm after.

But would it hurt to have some colours specific to just the SSV?

Dont quote me on this but I belive the rear spoiler on the SV6 sits lower than that of the SS and SSV.
But I wouldnt have cared about Exclusive colours for the SSV as i still would have gone Red.... Just my 2 cents.

SSV is a V series version of the SS, which is a V8 version of the SV6.
With the amount of SV6, SS and SS-V moving out the door, I think Holden are quite happy with what they have done, and (most) customers seem to agree...

Correct! SS and SSV has the larger rear spoiler to that of the SV6.

Only if you treat 'em like crap and don't use leather conditioner.. Why would you pay $60,000 for a car and not treat the seats with a bit of conditioner once a month? Small price and time to pay to keep 'em looking new and protected.

At a glance you can see whether it has a V badge?

Wow! I'm impressed.

I don't even have one, but I wish Holden would fix the dash centre "gauges" ie. those hideous looking electronic gauges.

With all the design work that went into the car, those things look like an afterthought.

JKGMH is working on that one for us with some nice dash mounted gauges (in pod). :woohoo:

To be honest the much maligned centre gauges that I thought were crap before delivery arn't that bad - I don't mind em at all

I suppose everybody has their own personal opinions , but me personally i like them

There's no reason for the SV6, SS, and SS-V to be differentiated further. Essentially, they all serve the same purpose - they act as the sports models in the range, with different equipment levels.

The SS-V's minor changes are effective in signalling the performance flagship. I'm not sure what else could be done...a new bodykit would be out of the question I would think.

I do a bit of maintenance work at Holden at Fishermens Bend, if you keep your eyes open and know what your looking at you can pick up some things, at times they will trial a colour before it is available to the punters, saw a ssv the other day in a medium bluish-grey that looked sensational, had it been available at the time I reckon I would have gone for it

The ONLY thing that Holden really need to differentiate is the difference from the outside. Im not talking looks in the design as there is slight differences, i'm talking rims. Why does the V8 SS has the same rims as the V6 SV6. Why? Sure Holden want 18's on them but at least use a different design. It woild really help set apart the 8's from the 6's. Just like the SS-V rims are different again.
