winding noise from ls1

My mrs just bought a wh stato and i dont kno much about the ls1's but is it normal to have like a winding noise? it doesnt sound like its sick or nothing and its amotor noise not a belt noise

mine made what I think might be the noise u mean after 60k was the power steering pump, apparently pretty common.

yea i dont think its that it makes the noise driving in a straight lind sounds like the motors winding up

is it a high pitched noise?
Does it occur only when driving or parked in neutral as well?
Does it stay the same regardless of speed or does it increase with engine revs / vehicle speed?

we only got the car yesterday, i guess it is a high pitched noise, i've only drivin it 2wice it does sound like the sound stays the same the faster you go it sounds like the engine winding up

mate thats what mine sounded like, I thought the pump would make noise when turning but it made it from startup, idle and drivin straight too, sounded sorta like gera drives in the old cars.
Might not be what it is but might be worth a look.

Not normal, could be power steering pump, (Checked the fluid? May be low? If it is low it must have a leak somewhere?) Could be alternator or another pulley noise.
Should be quiet, these motors are normally very quiet and any noise would be a fault somewhere, so I suggest you take it somewhere and get it checked out.

is the noise coming from the front of the motor or the back?

yea it looks like a minor leak in the psp just on a hose but its coming outta the motor cant tell if its the front or rear its a stato and its real quite, were gonna get it checked out just waiting for some cash
