I'm thinking of doing a matt-black finish for my car to give it a real sleeper look, black wheels and tinted lights too. The whole works.

Don't think i'll go with any stripes tho...

I reckon that thing looks horn! But I'm not sold on the matt finish. I think replace the orange with the silver would like sweet too.

Any idea of cost for matt black?

I would prefer the shiny gloss look. But it does look good and it is different and would definitely turn heads

My kids would take to it with chalk.

I actually think it only looks good on the older style cars. But each to their own. Most people might look at it and think whats the matter with that guys paint job..

Hate to say it but it looks like a kids toy , plastic and cheap. Not like a deep shiny paintjob that people see and just drool over. only my opinion champ:teach:

I love it, but ditch the orange.

Good call!

Not for me but it'd be cool as far as standing out from the crowd goes and would make people look twice. I think it's more suited to a weapon of a car, not a sleeper.

The Ferrari guy needs a bullet for that orange :spew:

I was always wondering what a matt or flat black car would look like. I was thinking about having it done on the ute & at night time it would be awesome. No light would bounce off so your car would say be kind of hiding? And yes the rims would have to go black aswell & some good tint.

Will make it look like a rubbed back restoration waiting to hit the paint booth....
Each to their own, but it's an expensive way to make your car worth a fair bit less!

Just waiting for some innocent sucker to smash into it when the cloud cover makes visibility poor.
Yep, that would be realllllly awesome.....

I certainly would not even think of doing it to any decent late model car, it would absolutely kill the resale value.

Not a big fan of the matt-black. To me it gives the half finished project car look.

Looks awesome, I've had a few 50's customs in flat (hot rod black), You can now get flat paints with metalflakes and that aren't porous like the traditional undercoats. There's a late model falcon ute getting around Canberra that's flat black and shaved and looks tuff.

I give it the
I'd go matt black in a heartbeat.
Body and wheels, it would look the business.
All the reflective, candy and shiney paint jobs have been done to death.
Do it, Do it............

Yeh I think it would be wicked!
Go for it mate, if you think it would look good and have the cash for a respray then "just do it".

How about you post a pic of your car up and ask one of the nice people that frequent this forum to photo shop it in matt black?

 Go for it. A tough no BS*^t finish would be a great change from the norm.

followed a guy in a vt thru sydney a couple of weeks back who had done exactly that and it did stand out, but it also looked like it just really wasnt finished. Anyway, each to their own, if you like it, go for it

Yeah mate, don't reckon it would be a sleeper look, matt black with black rims, I'd say that'd be a bit suss!

Looks great on the hotrods, not my thing on a late model though, all the best with it.

Cheers.
