Well fella's, an effort to be proud of:
Darren Park (Justice R8), 2nd in Class, 12th o'all
John Healey (PSI38L), 5th in Class, 30th o'all
Nathan Buckley, 6th in Class, 33rd o'all.
I see Darren's become quite the quarter miler with his last attempt a 12.39 off a 0.050 R/T! (it got him 6th in E/T and 3rd in R/T). Well done Darren!
Both Darren's and John's Eastern Creek lap times are pretty awesome, times and results are particularly good when you have a look at the class of car (and budgets!) they were up against.
Again, well done!
(and I'm sure they're thankful for the help they've rec'd from Sam's/Marrano's & CHE respectively)

Congrats ! These Duttons rallies sound like a lot of fun. I am slowly but surely modding my car so i can enter in 2008 or 2009.
My mate (David Finnimore) who drives an EVO in these things was coming 2nd overall till midway through Sunday when he blew a gearbox. He is always in the top 5 or so.
While i love my big horsepower rear wheel drive commodores his 250awkw EVO just embaresses my car. It is a weapon. I think he did a 1min47 round EC which is a time i can only dream off.

It was a fun rally this year. Darren's car sounded freaking awesome. I watched him while waiting to run EC. His car sounded like a V8 supercar down main straight and looked & sounded so tough. The big fella can certainly drive and damn the guy is a nice bloke to have a conversation with.
You failed to mention what came 11th. 11th overall was won buy a Ford TE-50 Series III, with zero engine mods, and standard Tickford TS suspension. No weight reduction or roll cages or radical mods as it's a daily driver etc. He was in class A won second in class ,and gave Rick Bates a big shakeup in the BMW M5 and almost beat the veteran rally driver.
I love both ford and holden but that result, with car and driver is certainly a very commendable effort for a car that is constantly looked at and frowned opon. Talk about an underdog with attitude.....lol.
Cheers

Just to clear it up guys. 12th was on handicap which is reliant on how you do in your class hence why the stock TE 50 was 11th on handicap. All of the quick V8's were all put into a modified class and the TE 50 was in the standard V8 class. Modified included cams, light weight and even a PWR supercharged ute which sounded absolutely awsome screaming around the creek.
I ended up 22nd I think on genuine outright (no handicapping) Which was a little dissappointing. I drove badly and need to lift my game for the Victorian rally. Maybe if I stop drifting and jackassing around I might beat the Bullet which runs a supercharged V8 lexus motor in an MX5 shell. I hate to think what power to weight ratio that thing has but I will give it a good shake up in the Vic 2007 event.
A great time was had by all anyway. There will be some great TV footage of my spin on the eastern creek circuit where I blew a front right tyre 1/2 way round turn 8 putting me into a big spin. One scary ride.

I was 26th, rick bates 27th and the Shane in the TE 50 was 50th. The reason the modified cars were moved out of the V8 class was to give the guys with a standard road car a chance of winning, which has got more standard V8's entering the rally which is great

Yes I heard about your off on the track, and some of my mates that witnessed it, said you were lucky. Those Pirelli corsa's are known for letting go, like yours did. A few guys have put their cars into a wall as a result. Thank goodness you didn't. Still that car of yours sounds unbelieveable down EC main straight and looks very fast too. I thought you would have got mid 45's, but i remember you saying that you were still fine tuning the car's suspension and you were not happy with the pirelli's grip. I reakon you should be able to beat the bullet if you really focused more on the events. Still....when you throw your car around, it's good entertainment.:burnout:
Good luck with Victoria mate.

As long as ya have fun thats all that matters, and by the sounds of it, you were having plenty til your tyre let go
Good luck in the Victorian rally.

It was a great event. just need some more time in the Car I have the same as thought a darren, I need to stop trying to see how much smoke i can make on the motorkahna and i might get a better result.
The Car was unreal on the track (thanks to Sonny's awsome work), I'm stoked with a 1:50.9 around the creek. i would love to spend a day there and get some more laps in.

I was at the creek on Sunday & enjoyed the whole day.
That R8 sounded mad, I did see him spin out. It was nothing really, just trying a bit hard I think. Although later in the day the car was not running well & I think he had some machanical problems.
The Tickford cars were going very well for basiclly standard cars. I would say they are very underatored..I wouldn't take them lightly, thats for sure.
I think the Dutton is a great event, & try to watch all the rounds on TV..

Here is a link for some footage of darrans beast at 2007 dutton. I know the first run of him in this vid was him, but the second run I think was driven by Rick Bates but correct me if i'm wrong darran....i heard this off the notrious grape vine. That car sounds awesome.
