Hi Guys,

Am thinking about getting either an SSV or a GTS. If i do go for a GTS i would choose the white but not sure which interior. I have seen both black and red and they both look fantastic but red stands out a bit more. Thinking of going red interior but concerned about resale etc.....black seems like the smartest choice. what do you guys think?

mate, if you like the red get it.. who cares about re-sale? yeah sure, it hurts.. but at the end of the day, what would you prefer.. a nice red interior that you want, or a black interior that'll you'll be cursing yourself for later. My theory is, get what you want, otherwise you'll have regrets for the entire time you have the car..

Mind you, i'm sure the regrets won't be too bad once you drive the GTS regardless of interior..

I think it would depend on how red the interior would be.
ie. if its going to have a red dash etc, it might be a bit loud

Nice choice, if I was in the market for a Clubby or GTS I'd be going white with the red interior.
I didn't think a red interior was an option on the white cars???????

Your correct there, its not even an option in the E series or SSV so dont worry about that choice.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I am tending to agree with you all that if i like the red i will go for it. Now i just have to decide if i should spend that much on a car at the moment etc.....will post my results hopefully in the next few weeks.

I have actually seen one (white/red GTS) at a dealer which is what got the idea in my head as it looked sensational. Not sure if it was a one off??

My Monaro has a red interior. I've never regretted that choice in four years.
I doubt resale would be a big issue with models like this. You are talking about the versions that many like to stand out, loud and proud!
A red interior might be a big turnoff to future Berlina buyers, for example, but could be quite desirable for SSV/GTS buyers, whose personalities like a bit of extra "colour" in their lives...

Go the black mate....looks classy and won't fade/stain like red will over time:love:

And totally black!
That's why many choose the colour options, to break up the look. Some like it, some don't. It's all down to personal taste.

Another vote for the Red. Totally individual car. If you go the GTS, the dash is half black (top) and half red (bottom). So its not totally red (well normal HSV's anyway. The one you are looking at may be a special so could have any combination.

Also, I love the White. Saw a white R8 the other day, really looked good.

I wouldn`t be too concerned about resale value. Are you buying it for the next person or for yourself? Yes the black interior is more conservative, but it is a GTS remember. Arrrrhh, go the red....:yahoo:

My partners V2 Monaro is Quicksilver with the red leather and even though I was unsure when we bought it, I absolutely love it now. It has got to the stage where I am bored with black and grey interiors, as almost every make has that combination.
Mind you the Monaro red leather is a different red to the really bright red in the SS etc .
But mate its your car so run with your heart and dont be swayed by other influences.
Happy Cruizin.

Another vote for red - breaks up the interior in the GTS nicely and provides a nice contrast with the white instrument cluster. Black would look good too though......its a GTS after all.
