Hello All,
I have recently purchased a VY SS ute. My First Holden V8 and I'm loving it. I want to get a few basic mods done to the car ie; exhaust, intake, tune and was wondering if anyone knows of any reputable workshops in Sunbury, Vic. I own a business in Sunbury which requires me to be there 6 days a week so I can't really travel anywhere else to get the mods done. The only other option is a workshop in Epping, Thomastown or Lalor which is not far from where I live.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.
Cheers

MPC is just up the fwy from u, took me 15mins to get there today from the city.

Was using heaps of fuel .
Got my tune fixed by Steve at S&S Racing in Sunshine . Ph: 9310 7842.

Mate, you cant go past electronic automotive in epping if thats in your area.
Just got mine back, and i wouldnt take it any where else.
This mob tuned most of brockys cars, what more needs to be said.
You dont need to be a forum sponser to be reputable, just remember that.
do some research, and you wont be dissapointed.

Lets just say that I have NEVER heard of anyone having a bad or less than good experience at GM Motorsport which is extremely rare in this industry.

Agreed.
As for Electronic Automotive, the less said the better IMHO.

Allright fellas, you've convinced me. Monday morning after my sleep in, I will be going to Electronic Automotive in Epping then to GM Motorsport as I will have to go to my shop in Sunbury anyway. I will report back as to which workshop I will chose and what mods I will go for.

If you can tolerate Tim's (electronic automotive) arrogance, contempt and overpricing, then it's all good as he does good work give credit where credit is due :) But there are better places :D
Hey lorenz223,
Do you have a VR turbo 6 by any chance?

Must be different to different people, I have spent a heap of time with the mpc guys and they are all great, spent a few hrs at Tims too and he was a good laugh, cant say anything bad about him from the little I have seen.
Maybe it was because my mechanic is a good mate of his?

I'm inclined to agree with you BLACKWAGON. Well all i can say is that he lost a trade customer. Which is why I've been sending all of my customers cars requiring kalmaker tunes to G&D or HPF :) This is despite Tim being about a 3 minute drive from my place...

Thats the thing, IMO my tuner treated me like crap after sales... Wasnt flash before hand but still ok... Then i hear how good he is with others and preps their cars for decent 1/4times ... guess you gotta be mates with em (p.s. i wont disclose who im talking bout so dont ask)

Well, I only had time to go to Electronic Automotive today. Spoke to Tim there and he gave me some advice and options for my car. Will have to wait two weeks to go to Gm Motorsport in Melton as next Monday is public holiday. Hopefully week after that can make it to MPC in Campbelfield(I think that's right?)

Hi i have had all my work done by Scotty at ChipControl and he has always done a brilliant job nothing is to much for him.
believe me he will not let a car leave his workshop till it is 100%
i am very picky with my tuners and have tried all the above mentioned and the results are i travel from Newcastle N.S.W to ChipControl.
Also Scotty is in Albury now fixing up some dodgy tunes

funny, many people and myself praise scotty for the work and perfection he takes. every time i have a query he doesnt only give me an answer but in great depth and detail till i walk away understanding whats going on. not having a dig at yah big123, but you should have taken the car back and explained your problems im sure he would have fixed it.
Cheers

I don't know what tree you guys are swinging from who have a bad word to say against Scotty at ChipControl but you have the wrong impression about him. I had my car tuned by him and could not be happier. I had a few other tunes done and wasn't all that impressed with other tuners who I won't mention. I took it to Scotty and my ECU had been locked out so he had to do an entire ground up tune. I live out in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne and travel to Sunbury just because I know the quality of his work and how much of a perfectionist he is.

Hey mate, what car do you own, and what are the mods?
I could'nt help but notice this is your one and only post, perhaps you work for the company in question?:confused::rofl:

I own a VZ SS. I've only got minor mods at the mo including roller rockers, twin 2.5inch exhaust and the LS1 edit. Having said that tho the difference is amazing from such small mods. I took 0.9seconds off my 1/4 mile time due to Scotty's better tune with the shift points etc etc.
Nah I don't work for Scotty, I'm just sticking up for him as I've never heard one bad word against him til I read this forum.
