Hi Guy's, i know this has been covered to death but i have a VTII and am wanting to convert the intake to the MCAI then do the 2 hole mod,, my Question is what are the parts i need to get, and what cars where they on,, i was told VXII and later , as i am going to the wreckers this arvo to look for The parts,, is it just the little shroud at the front or is it the whole lower air box assembly or the whole intake, inc maf pipe, as there are so many threads it gets abit confusing

Also the wreckers i go to often have alot of late model comm's just in, so i can pick up some spares if ppl are interested, and pass them on for whatever they cost me + postage, , would be allot cheaper than holden new,,

Any info guys

Cheers Brett

The only parts you should need from the wreckers, is the shroud it's self. If the price is right, you could get a spare air-filter bottom so if you ever want to return to stock you can, but I probably would worry about it.

If you've read the posts on the 2 hole mods, then the only other parts you need are the PVC pipe ( 90mm for the standard hole and what ever size you intend for the second one ) and maybe something to seal the pipes in place. If you cut the hole well, it should seal fine anyway. You may want to check what you already have in terms of holes, as some of the early models already had 2 holes, one piped up to the radiator shroud and one down behind the lights.

A can of matte black spray paint will also help to hide the white PVC piping.....

i just had a look at my setup b4 i go and i noticed that there are already 2 holes with one plumed to behind the head light, however there was no pipe to the top as shown in the photo below,, for a vt is this normal??

a yellow vt?
That is the normal set-up. That is, a restrictive top peice of pipe, and an awkward bugger of a lower peice. You want to remove both of those peices! once you do it will make things clearer on how to put your mcai in

Don't know why you'd bother taking the time going to the wreckers when the brand new parts are about $20 at Holden
