ooooh... someone somewhere may get into trouble over that.. my guess is it's the service mechanic (apprenitce?) rather than the police..

Good find tho ;)

just makes you think what they really do to your car at a workshop

Crazy.

that boys and girls is why when you find a good mechanic - you stick with them!
or, you do whatever work you can yourself....

i mean its cool video seeing a cop car do a burnout... but it would have been cooler if it was actually a cop on the road doing it... not some young clown in the workshop...

Would that be considered hoon driving and be subject to the law the same as if someone borrowed your or my car and did the same thing , it's 24 hours for the first offence isn't it ?

I am sure the police would be able to get the plate number from that video .

Lucky it didn't send off the smoke alarms and the boys in the big red trucks arrive at about a $1000 each.

If my workplace "alarms", its a 3 truck call out!

And if "malicious", "here's the bill"!!!!!

They will easily trace that dill

:sux: in case you've forgotten buddy,
who do you think funds the police force including their cars? (including any maintenance and TIRES)
The government,
and where does the government get their money from?
Taxes and fines.

Glad i do most of my own servicing...

That car was from the station I work at and I can tell you that arse's were kicked. Right out the door :)
that was the last of our exec v8's so I'm sure the boys had a fun time. I understand that wasn't the only burnout they did in it and all captured on video. How dumb are they?!

Nice move on both accounts there. The guy who done the burnout will be f@#ked & the guy holding the camera has just busted his arse.

Also as we all know, theres only limited number of places that service the cops cars!!!

You guys wanna lighten up a bit. If we didn't have stuff like this to laugh at, then what. Mate they weren't on a public road and it I didn't see any kids on the road in front of them. Sit back and laugh for christs sake or life will pass you by.

I thought it was funny as well .. kinda like when you see some guy turn up at work pissed and give his boss a spray. Doing stuff like that has consequences.

Besides if it was your pride and joy you wouldn't be too happy about it and imagine the other cutomers from that shop that see the video.. I am sure their boss will lose business due to there behaviour.

But yes I did sit back and laugh :yahoo:

What if it was your car that popped up on the net?? would it be as funny.

This is just proof of what can happen when you leave your car to be serviced.

Everyone is pissing themselves because it is a Police car, what if it was your car in the vid. I saw the same thing happen while I was at a Holden Dealer here in VIC, I was talking to the service manager about my R8 when all this screeching came from the workshop. I looked out into the workshop to see a GTO Coupe doing burnouts, not 1 but a few. He would do one & then reverse & do another. The service manager looked at me, shook his head & said how about we go into my office where it is quieter, I said to him if that is how your mechanics treat customers cars & I see you not doing anything, forget it I am out of here. It seemed as if it was common practice as he did not care to much about it.

Exactly! Having worked in many workshops over the years, this DOES happen and it's usually NOT newbie apprentices, but 4th years+ thinking they are hero's. And it isn't only reserved for Holden/Toyota, etc dealerships, it's just as bad with prestige marques (Saab/Porsche/TVR, etc). I've personally fired three staff for similar behaviour, but many manager's just look the other way unfortunately.

Doubt you'd be laughing if it was your own pride and joy being flogged and disrespected in a similar way.

Humor or not, its the principle of doing this. Wouldnt be funny if it were ur car. Cops may or may not care about their cars but as a tax payer I do.

Yeah it is all fun and good to have a laugh. But this was obviously out of the control of the police as it was in for a service/work....has anyone thought that whilst doing this burnout on the hoist if it had damaged any of the components of the car?????? Any officers/members of the police that would have driven the car afterwards, had been put in danger. What if breaks failed??? Not to mention putting the public at risk. NO ONE has thought about it from the other side. :cussing: But yes! There are many people that will not be using this locaton anymore.

South Australia Police announced the other day that they were monitoring "You Tube" and the other sites to trace and clamp down on these guys doing all sorts of illegal things in cars, they showed a clip of 3 rice racers going crazy through the Adelaide hills and said that they were about to make arrests from that clip! They said they could identify drivers and registration numbers from the film clips. How stupid are these guys?

SmeeAgain
31-05-2007, 12:00 AM
That's some funny shit. I guess the cops still don't know about the "public cars" that were pulled over by mechanics in police cars while being road tested during servicing in Adelaide a few years back.
I also know of a mate whos dad was a bike cop, and we used to get the bike out when the old man wasn't home and smoke it up in the driveway with the lights and siren blarring here in Adelaide. Weren't silly enough to film it.

Reactions when u gotta drive cops cars on the road is so funny, people seem to be goin outta their way to get out of ur way! lol n thats without the lights goin! they can trace lights and siren usage back to the car, n from there call the dealer and tell the tech to stop havin fun with the lights! A few years back there was a couple of nightshift guys at another dealer that parked an unmarked car in a car park durin a road test and proceeded to toke up in the car. Marked cop car drove by, got the rego number, worked out the car was in for service and the techs got the sack the next day!!! Quite a few classic stories going round!

Reckless stationary driving?
Undue noise from rear tyres?

What a load of sh#t.

I agree these mechanics were idiots, but seriously these cops need to get over themselves. Forget about it and move on.

And this is a Holden dealer.... way to "go" holden.... NOT!!!

Why would you bother taking it to a dealer when you have little hoons llike this at the workshop, pathetic.

Don't get me wrong... I am no angel when it comes to hooning around, far from it. It's that if I screw up or damage my car....its M E who does it and I take the responsibility for it.

So that car was from qld police station with sa government rego plates, unless of course you work in SA now?? From my knowledge SAPOL dont even have execs with V8s in them, they just have execs with V6s and SS's.

The particular SA Holden dealership involved should be exposed for the shambles it is, even if they have already done enough damaged to its credibility. Someone told me that there was a story about it on today tonight, can anyone confirm this?

This is the dealers "off site" service centre.
The incident was at a Southgate Holden service centre on Goldsmith Drive, Noarlunga in South Australia.

Incorrect, there are (or probably getting more towards "were") a number of VZ Exec V8s. Especially in the regional areas where the local coppers needed a highway patrol capable car but also required a car capable of dirt road driving, having standard rims, lighter (handy given the amount of crap they have to carry around - a police station on wheels!), not lowered and all the other reasons they needed to have a new V8 toy etc. Mate of mine based in the lower mid north region in a two man local station, still currently has a VZ V8 Exec.
